72 years young Sting rocks it at Radio 2's Preston in the Park 2024 for ttt

Hello music lovers and Hello hivers!

Tuesday for me on Hive means three tune tuesday...

It's Tuesday and of course that means it's inspiration time!!

The inspiration for this week is easy.

Apparently, the reality has set in and I am really an old fcuk, not that I needed being told mind you.

This weekend there was a music festival going on in the north of England

Some of the groups and musicians performing were Manic Street Preachers, Sugababes, Travis, Kim Wilde, Haircut100, Sister Sledge Snow Patrol and a fair few more.

The big headliner on Saturday was Sting ....

Today, I bring you 3 songs from that show on 8th September 2024

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

@ablaze started #ttt 172 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his last post Nick Cave's Ghosteen Part II for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 171 - win 5 HBI

Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the TWELVE sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

The Police were one of the first bands I ever saw, and I confess I loved the raw energy of the early albums. That was when to me Sting was at his height.

The set did span songs of his career, yeah this old fluffer enjoyed the show, I might do another ttt next week!

Roxanne (The Police) β€” Sting Live in Budapest 2024-05-31

So I fibbed as is my want, I could not find a recording of this, so we have it from earlier in the summer!

This is one of my favourite songs from The Police maybe even the favourite...

Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
Those days are over
You don't have to sell your body to the night
Roxanne, you don't have to wear that dress tonight

I tell you what, if I am half as great shape at 72 that Sting is then I shall be well happy!

Which was your favourite (if any) ? Or is it not one I played?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎢🎡🎢

Thanks for visiting!

Wow, I actually recognize quite a number of those names. It's been forever since I have been to a festival. I don't quite know how I would handle it these days. I just am not a fan of crowds as much as I used to be. Especially these days with shootings happening everywhere and all of that! Sting has always been one of my favorites. I remember picking up the Police Greatest Hits CD a long time ago and playing it over and over.

Yeah I thought you would know a few. Sting has indeed stood the test of time, just shows what happens when rockstars look after themselves!
It is the rain and mud that would get me. Saturday brilliant sunshine and Sunday pure rain and three inch mud lol, the British summer festival!

Yes, I guess that would be quite annoying. I have dealt with weather like that while camping, but I usually have my muck boots and a dry place to sleep!

You brought Roxanne back this week, that's cool but this 72 year old sting guy is alien to me. Nice jams though boss boss.

Roxanne is probably my favourite police songs, it is funny there are lots of songs with a single girls name that are my favourites of quite a few bands!

Damn, he can still pump out those songs even at his age... I hope I'll be that healthy at that point, assuming I make it that far! lol

Did you stick around for Haircut 100? It's been years since I heard their music, they had some great material!

The Police is pure fire. It's great to hear them here on a Tuesday. The first two are on my list, you're definitely on my team.
