A beautiful Tuesday for all the friends of the world. A nice day for the friends of HIVE. Today is Tuesday and like every Tuesday, it is a day of good music.
This year I wanted to rescue and pay tribute to all the Venezuelan groups and musicians that became known in the 80's, a time when Venezuela had a musical boom that projected our artists beyond our borders.

I must admit that when I was young, I didn't like Ilán Chester, his songs seemed insipid to me and his presentations didn't generate any interest in me (boy aren't they people). My taste for his music came to me when I lived, when I became an adult and fell in love. Although El cerro Ávila is an anthem for Venezuelans and is one of the emblematic pieces of Ilán's music, today we are going to listen to three songs that talk about love and heartbreak.

I can't find a better song than this one to dedicate to the one I love. Far from passionate love, turbulent and unbridled love, this piece speaks of perfect love, of that which you find in a being unique to you: “although they are beautiful, the stars, knowing you was better, because you shine brighter than the sun, without a doubt, you are one in a million.” This is a true declaration of love!
Tide of the sea
And because sometimes love is not enough, this song speaks just about those couples struggling to save a relationship that is about to sink. Only those of us who have been in a relationship know what it means: “let's sit down for a while and talk” or “it's time to tell each other the truth”. We know there are problems, but Ilán says:

In the 80's, I saved the money my parents gave me to spend at school and then used it to buy magazines and records. At that time I never bought Ilán Chester records. My Ilán CDs I bought when I was an adult and I still have them. These three pieces are the kind that remind me of two eras: adolescence and adulthood.
