Three "Benson Boone" Songs That Hit Me Differently Today

Of course, the first on the list and my most favourite from his songs is "Beautiful things". I still remember the first time I heard this song, it was from a cover done by my sister here on Hive. I was really impressed by how she sang the song and the conviction I needed to get the song for my playlist came when I saw another cover on Tiktok. I love the prayer in the song, yea, I think the song is a prayer and a very beautiful prayer.

Today was the first time I listened to his "In The Stars" from start to finish, it had always been just the chorus in short clips and videos about people who have passed on. I knew it was a sad song so I didn't really put interest in finding out who sang it until I checked out Benson's songs. I've never lost someone very dear to me but I've been close to one who has, the feeling is definitely not one anybody deserves but they have to go through.

"Momma song" got me feeling two things, a little regret and gratitude. The little regret is because I've never really bothered to imagine I could lose my parents someday and so I don't do the extra to appreciate their presence enough. But I'm feeling gratitude because I still have the chance to do more with them. The song explores his request to his mother for her stories to keep as a memory when she leaves him for sometime later.

I saw a whole lot more of his songs but I'm yet to listen to them, hopefully something else will take me to listen to his songs more. But from the ones I've listened too, I think he's a unique artist who knows the right lyrics and sounds for every moment. You should listen to him sometime too.
