3 Songs from an Electronic Artist: Mad Animal

I've been listening to a lot of ✨doomer jazz✨ lately. I'm still not entirely well-versed on the genre. I believe it's just supposed to be dark jazz? more depressing??... It's very reminiscent of a noir detective film.

Anyway, because of my music selection, vaporwave is another genre that has been recommended to me. Vaporwave is a type of electronic music that heavily derives inspiration from 1980s and 1990s songs. Honestly, there are a whole bunch of subgenres that I jump lump into this category: synthwave, dreamcore, chillsynth, etc.

So I found this playlist; it's got some great 80s vibes that I can really fuck with! 😄 Thankfully every song in this has been created by the same artist: Mad Animal. I quite enjoy their style, but given that this is Three Tunes Tuesday, I will point out the three songs that I love the most.

The first song is titled 1984. It has a wonderful underwater embodiment to it, and there is almost a lonely hidden within it. Great synths and snare throughout this song, and the soft male voice also contributes a nice element.

The second song is called Midnight Call. I don't have much to contribute on this one. I just really enjoy the melancholic vibe.

The final song is called Taking Off! This one is a bit more hopeful! (Pretty sure the opening conversation is dialogue from The Matrix?) And like the name may suggest, it is the perfect song for a nighttime drive in the city. If you listen very attentively, you'll hear a female "yea~" once or twice -- makes me go ummpf!! 🤤

That is it for today! 👋 I hope you enjoyed the music selection, maybe brought back some memories of similar times. Until next time, please enjoy the week!
