We are within the 20 km radius from the volcano. The last time it exploded in 2020, we were affected by ashfalls, but not worse than that. Our town was the first to take evacuees. Since then there are always minor steam driven explosions.
I'm glad you're safe from it! I live near a volcano as well and it's considered active. It hasn't blown for over 200 years, but does release steam. It used to go off like clockwork every 200 years, but the last eruption was in 1793, which means its 31 years overdue! If it ever does go, it will be a disaster.
