My gardener is way too cheap, and he doesn't want to take more, so I usually try to make it better by paying him bonuses and lunch, too. Minimum wage in Ecuador is now 3$ per hour, and he refuses to charge me more than 2$.
I hope Kaia will be fine! That hip/leg problem is quite common in shepherds, unfortunately, do I hope there's a fix for her.

The hip issue is very common for German Shepherds with the slanted back. Kaia has a straight back, like all her siblings from that breeder, and they're all hip tested. So, the risks are much lower, although not zero. In this case, I am worried it's the knee Cruciate Ligaments, because she's probably too old for a major surgery, like the one she had a few years ago. We'll see what the vet says, hopefully it's just arthritis.
