That's somewhere I've been! We drove from Boston to Providence via a stop in Cape Cod. Then we had a day out in Newport where we took the tour of the 'cottages'. They certainly have a lot of boats around there. I enjoyed that trip. We went on to NYC, but that is a different experience.
I only knew the Eagles song as I've listened to that album a lot. It was the only place I had heard of Providence.

It's a beautiful area. I hope to get back there again one day. I really think Newport looks like a nice little town to explore some more now that I am older.
A friend was based in NYC for a while and went to the Newport music festivals. I think people can enjoy those from their boats.
