Where do we go from here?

PXL_20240519_130141580.jpg

I've decided that every now and then I want to take a step away from sports and talk a little bit about the direction I see this account taking in the future. It's become pretty clear to me that there are not very many people who read most of the content I post with this account. I'm okay with that too, so I don't want you to think I am complaining.

When I compare this account to my main account, there are two main reasons I think it isn't doing as well. Besides the obvious reason that it is a younger account dedicated to a specific community.

First, it just doesn't have the Hive Power that my main account does. Whether you are here for the community or not, I think we all know that many people visit posts because they are fishing for a connection to a bigger account. I've done it myself. I'd be lying if I said that motivation doesn't exist here on Hive. It's just a fact of life.

Second, and probably more importantly, is the fact that I don't comment as much from this account as I do from my other one. That isn't to say that I don't respond to comments on my posts, but I don't go out as actively looking for posts to comment on and curate. That's on me. I fully accept that.

Either way, I'm not going to stop. I really enjoy posting about sports from this account. It's become a nice hobby for me and it keeps me up to date with a lot of the latest news, so I can handle myself when I end up at some bar in a typical sports bro-talk discussion.

Right now my main account has a pretty large delegation sent out to Holozing so I can earn more of that juicy ZING token. I get about 3000 ZING per day just from that one delegation. Once I hit my staked ZING target of 500K tokens, I plan on pulling back that delegation.

At that time I will probably re-delegate half of it to @brofi and then the other half I will split in half again and delegate some of that HP to this account. It only makes sense since I am actively posting and commenting when necessary with this account.

I'm currently closing in on 4000 HP with this account which is pretty awesome. I remember when 4000 HP on my main account was a big deal, so achieving that on a secondary account is beyond cool.

My ultimate goal is to get this account to 10,000 HP. I hope with a little bit of luck to have that accomplished by the end of 2025. The plan right now is to let that happen naturally and to keep sending the earned HBD from this account to my main one.

It's possible I might start selling the HBD on this account and powering it up. That will be an on the fly decision.

Either way, I hope those of you who actually read my content on this account keep coming back! I really do appreciate your interest and candor.

People often fish for those juicy upvotes, and I get it, most are motivated by making money (which I totally don’t mind, by the way, lol). But these days, I mostly reserve my comments for folks who actually take the time to respond.

Is the second account just to keep topics separate and the accounts a bit more, um, organized?

There were some other reasons at the beginning too, but since the Sports community isn't as active as it use to be those don't really matter anymore. Actifit was a big reason too.

I took a look at the Sports community and that is to bad. If it was more active I would have definitely hopped on to that.

100%

So true, very very very few people visit my second account, yet I go on sprees where I comment more from my second one than my first one.

I like the second one as I can write for me not just to try to earn rewards.

I don't give a shit what anyone says but when you write and engage and get next to nothing in the way of rewards is demoralising and one of the reasons so many newer Hivians slow down or stop on Hive. I know people have been here 6 7 8 years etc and so have the big autovotes but I still think the reward distribution needs looking at to keep people.

Interesting that you delegate big to Zing. After all the hullabaloo that seems to hardly be mentioned, must be a year since it was launched.

4000 HP is fluffing awesome, I just crossed 1000 HP on my second account and I was superchuffed with that!

Yeah, it can be rough when the rewards you get aren't equal to the amount of time you put into it. I totally get that. My hope is that one day we will have enough people on here that things will finally kind of even out. Acid had some personal stuff going on for a while I think. Health related, so he wasn't able to post for a while. He is back now and moving forward.

Things are what they are. There are so many blockchains that people can go to and get involved. Yes on Hive you can earn rewards, but I have been watching the big curators and geo curating this last month and the results were interesting. There other chains that might give way better rewards that we do for some of them.

Most people don't get rewards commensurate with the time you put in, but that is life as often the posts are not that great anyway. And I am totally rambling and totally forget what the fluff I was meaning to say!

Fluff it! Happy Monday to you!
