WOO BETA Is Ready to Rumble, 90 Days to Make Your Move

A Big Hello to all WOO Fans! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ WOO!

There are some WOO announcements that feel like another update to the game, and then there are announcements that make you stop and think about where WOO is actually heading. For me, the WOO BETA announcement definitely falls into the second category. This is not simply another pack being added to the Store. WOO BETA feels like the next major step after ALPHA, and there is a lot packed into this one announcement that could change how players approach collecting, playing and using their WOO assets.

The first thing that caught my attention is the size of the Beta release. WOO BETA will have 150,000 packs minted in total, with 135,000 of those packs made available through the public sale. That is a massive increase compared with WOO ALPHA. The Alpha edition had 60,000 packs in total, with around 50,000 available publicly, and those packs disappeared in less than 24 hours. Beta is therefore entering the ring with a much bigger supply, but there is an important difference in how the sale will work this time.

Instead of simply opening the Store and leaving the sale running indefinitely, WOO BETA comes with a 90-day retirement countdown. Once the public sale begins, there are 90 days on the clock. If all 135,000 public packs are sold before the countdown reaches zero, the sale ends early. If there are still packs sitting there when the 90 days are over, the direct public sale ends anyway, and those remaining packs will not simply be returned to the Store for another round of sales. I actually like this approach because it gives the Beta edition a clear beginning and ending instead of making the sale feel like something that could remain available forever.

It also creates a little bit of urgency without making the whole thing feel like a race on the first day. If you want Beta packs, you know there is a defined window in which you can buy them. At the same time, there is no requirement to panic-buy everything immediately because there is a 90-day period. That feels like a healthier way of approaching a major release, especially for players who want to think about how much they actually want to collect.

The Beta packs themselves contain five cards each, which means the maximum number of cards represented across the entire 150,000-pack supply is 750,000. Inside those cards are 60 new collectible talents. The breakdown is 21 male singles, 19 female singles and 20 tag teams. There are no managers in this edition. That is a pretty interesting change from Alpha because Beta is not simply adding another group of individual wrestlers. Tag teams are getting a significant presence, with 20 of the 60 new talents coming in that format.

The rarity breakdown also gives collectors something to think about. There are 21 Common cards, 22 Rare cards, 11 Epic cards and 6 Legendary cards. That means the Legendary pool is naturally much smaller than the Common and Rare pools, while the 60-card talent roster itself gives collectors plenty of different combinations to chase. Personally, I think this is where the fun of a new WOO edition starts to appear. It is not just about opening a pack and seeing what card is inside. There is the question of which talents you will find, what rarity they will have, whether you will want to build around them and how they might fit into your collection.

There is another part of the announcement that I think deserves just as much attention as the cards themselves. WOO BETA is being presented alongside a series of major platform improvements. The Store is being redesigned, the Marketplace is getting better filtering, the pack-opening page is being cleaned up, individual wrestler pages will contain much more information, and the Collection page is being improved. These changes might not sound as exciting as opening a Legendary card, but they are the sort of changes that become important when a game grows.

The new wrestler pages in particular sound useful. Being able to see total copies owned, a wrestler's record, the lowest Marketplace ask and the number of copies currently listed gives collectors a much clearer picture of an individual card. There will also be information about Level, progress, TP, Exhaustion, individual wins and losses, injuries, protection, Marketplace status, delegation status and the NFT ID. That turns a wrestler page into much more than a simple card display. It becomes a proper information hub for that asset.

The Collection page is also getting a more complete overview across Talent, Land, Lore, Items, Consumables and Injuries. Again, this is the sort of thing that becomes more important as WOO expands. When a game has a small number of assets, basic menus are enough. Once there are more cards, more editions and more systems interacting with each other, navigation becomes part of the experience.

Then there is the Road to Beta, which might be one of the more interesting parts for anyone who enjoys the story side of WOO. The announcement says we will see new characters, new versions of existing talent, evolving storylines, tag teams and wrestlers whose roles have changed since Alpha. That makes Beta feel less like a reset and more like the next chapter.

For me, that is probably the biggest takeaway from the whole announcement. WOO BETA is not being positioned as Alpha with another set of cards. It is being built as a new era, with a larger roster, a different sale structure, more reasons to use $WOO and a platform that is being upgraded at the same time.

And now the clock is part of the story too. Ninety days is long enough to give people time to decide, but short enough to make the Beta edition feel like something with a defined lifecycle. Whether the packs sell out quickly or take much longer, the countdown gives the release a clear ending.

I am looking forward to seeing how this one develops. Alpha showed what WOO could do with a relatively small first edition. Beta is the chance to see what happens when that idea gets much bigger. For anyone already following WOO, the next 90 days could be a very interesting part of the journey.

Well, that's it for today. We will continue again tomorrow! 😁 WOO! πŸŽ‰
