Smiles illuminating the surroundings... | Phone Photography Contest #94 [EN/ES]

Something that's not common in my country is seeing women drinking beer in a place where the clientele is mostly male.

Despite the times we live in, the ravages of machismo and limiting prejudices are still perceptible in social thought. That's why I was so happy to discover, on a recent visit to a brewery, these young women enjoying some delicious beers with complete ease while chatting about their lives.

I watched them for quite some time while I tried to write a poem...

They drank incessantly, looked at each other seriously depending on what they were talking about, ordered another beer, drank, laughed... and the light was no longer black and white, but the light of their smiles illuminating the surroundings...

Algo que no resulta común en mi país es ver a mujeres bebiendo cerveza en un sitio donde sus clientes son mayoritariamente hombres.

A pesar de la época en que transitamos, aún se percibe en el pensamiento social, los estragos del machismo o lo prejuicios limitantes. De ahí que me alegre descubrir, en una visita reciente a una cervecería, a estas chicas jóvenes con total desenfado disfrutando de unas exquisitas cervezas mientras charlaban sobre sus historias.

Les observé durante buen tiempo mientras intentaba escribir un poema...

Bebían sin cesar, se miraban seriamente en función de lo que charlaban, volvían a pedir otra cerveza, bebían, reían... y la luz ya no era en blanco y negro, sino la luz de sus sonrisas iluminando el entorno...
