Rooftop photographs : Phone Photography Contest-23

Hi there! Welcome back to my post! I hope that you are doing great. In this post, you will find three photographs I captured a few days ago. On a Friday afternoon, we went to the rooftop to enjoy the surroundings. Via these photographs, I will show you the status of the rooftops of the Omani houses or buildings.

The following photograph contains the rooftop of many Omani houses. Unlike rooftop gardens in many countries, here we don't see any green on a rooftop. Water tanks, TV cables dish and wires are found on a rooftop.

This is the rooftop of the building we are living in. It's congested with outdoor air-conditioning units, wires, water tanks, dishes, etc. We need to be careful walking here :)

This is the rooftop of a commercial building next to ours. It's almost a similar picture!

Water tanks

In the first picture, you will find one water tank in an Omani house. These are private villa-type houses. All the members of the house consume water from the same tank. They pay the water bill according to a single meter attached to the inlet of the single water tank.

In the next two photographs, you can see that there are multiple water tanks. One tank for each unit or apartment in the building; residential or commercial unit. Each tank's inlet has a meter set to calculate the bills separately. So that the tenants have to pay water bills according to their consumption. Not like the total bill is divided equally among the tenants.

Okay. This is all for now. I hope that you enjoyed my post. Let me know in the comment section if you have any suggestions or questions.

Thanking you
Hafiz

Its really nice to see the roof of the houses in your city! :) But I have a question, you said 'we don't see any green on a rooftop' but you didn't share the reason. Why is there not a single person among so many of them who likes to plant/nature?

The only tree seen in abundance in Oman is the date tree. That's not feasible to grow on a rooftop. During summer it's almost 50 degree here. So, all plants can't grow here! I think these are the reasons.

Thanks for the support

In summer, the temperature here also goes up to 50 degrees, but still many people here and I myself plant many types of plants on the terrace of our house. Not only because I love plants, but it also keeps the temperature in the rooms under the roof a little lower and the air conditioners also work well.
Btw, I also love dates. I have 2 date plants which I had grown from seeds at home. :)💚
