Hello family π @diyhub I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.
Guess what I'm here to fulfil my promise.
Yeah I promised you all in my previous post here to share a tutorial on how I achieved the shell stitch I used on the brim of my buba sleeve.
This is the pattern called shell stitch and, I will guide you all on how I made this beautiful crochet stitch.

Materials needed:
π Yarn
π 2.5mm hook
π Darning needle
π And my magic hands.βΊοΈ
Note: Here are words you will come across in the procedure: chain, third loop, single crochet, double crochet, and turn over.
Procedure:
STEP 1: I chained 21

STEP 2: In the third loop of the second chain, I place a single crochet.

STEP 3: I repeat a single crochet in the third loop of each chain across the row.

STEP 4: I chained 1, turned my work and in the first stitch, I placed 1 single crochet.

STEP 5: I skipped 2 stitches, in the 3rd stitch, I placed 5 double crochet.

STEP 6: I skipped 2 stitches again, in the 3rd stitch, I placed 1 single crochet.
STEP 7: I skipped 2 stitches and in the 3rd stitch, I placed 5 double crochet.
STEP 8: In the last stitch, I placed 1 single crochet.

In the next row I decided to play with colours. βΊ οΈ I wasn't so sure of baby pink but I decided to give it a try. You all should rate the colour combo in the comment section.
The next row is going to be a little bit different. If you're working in rows I will advise you to follow this method. But if you're using it on the brim of your craft then row 1 is okay.
STEP 9: For row 2. I chained 3 and turned in my work. In the same stitch, I placed 2 double crochet into the same stitch.

STEP 10: In the middle stitch of my first shell, I placed 1 single crochet.
STEP 11: I placed 5 double crochet into the single crochet stitch of my previous row.

STEP 12: Then in the middle stitch of the next shell in the previous row, I placed 1 single crochet.
STEP 13: I repeated the pattern and ended the row with 3 double crochet in the single crochet stitch of the previous row.

In this row 1 of the shell is divided into both sides. To help the next row seat well on each shell.

STEP 14: I repeated row 1 in row 3. Then I weave in my ends.
And tadaa here is the result. Beautiful right?
It's looking like a shell just as the name implies.
