DIY- Tutorial on Stain removal with the Triple Threat(lemon, detergent and charcoal).

Greetings guys!!!, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Today I’m very excited with what about to share with you guys. I know it will be of help to many of you out here. Probably some might already have an idea of what I’m about to share. Anyways I just felt the need to share it here in other to gain a wider audience. I’m confident 99.7% of us all owns or uses an iron at our homes and offices. If yes, then you probably have encountered a situation were you probably have burned stains on the iron. Like the image below.

You probably have tried to get those stains off to no avail, sometimes people go to the extent of trying to scratch it off with a blade or a sharp object. Which is not advisable by the way. But yet still haven’t been able to get all those stains off. Well I come to you with an easy solution, all you need are just these three things.

  • Powdered Detergent
  • Lemon
  • Charcoal

With these three ingredients. which are very easy to come by, you should be able to completely wipe off all the stains on your iron with ease. No more scratching the iron with a blade which causes damages to the iron. Let me not waste much time and show you how it’s done.

Firstly, you are going to split the lemon into two parts with the help of a knife or razor blade. I advise you buy the juiciest lemon(the one that has plenty juice) some of the lemons are very hard and contain little juice.

After splitting it, we are going to squeeze as hard as possible all the juice of the lemon on the burnt surface of the iron. Make sure all the parts you want to clean gets some of the juice. Squeeze both lemons and make sure you get enough juice on the iron.

Now we can go ahead and power some of the detergent we bought onto the surface of the iron we just juiced. Sprinkle the powdered detergent all over. Make sure it covers all the area you want to clean and all areas covered with the lemon juice.

Now we use the charcoal to gently scrub the detergent and the lemon juice on the surface of the iron. Continue scrubbing the surface for about one to three minutes. You can apply some of the juice if you think some areas didn’t get enough lemon juice.

When you are done, just use a wet duster(please it shouldn’t be too wet) just a little and wipe all the charcoal off and you will be amazed to see how all the stains will go off. And will look just like a brand new one. Just look at the image below.

It is very annoying that it forms on the iron because it can damage the clothes or fabric being ironed. Thanks for sharing one of the many ways it can be removed without damaging the surface of the appliance.
