My First Crochet Scrunchie

Hello guysssss, it’s been a minute here, and I’m finally glad to show Y’all my latest project, and I’m super excitedddd.

I took a deep dive into crocheting, and guess what? It wasn’t as difficult as I thought. Yeah, there are so many designs and patterns to learn as you progress, but the reward is awesome and worth the stress.

After spending my entire weekend watching several crochet videos over and over again, I decided to finally create something. Something creative and easy. It didn’t take me long to settle for a scrunchie as it’s a beginner-friendly project.

I learnt a lot about crochet while watching these videos on YouTube, and I can boldly say that crocheting requires a lot of patience and focus. If you lack these two qualities, you’d likely get tired quickly.

Again, Mistakes aren’t punishments, but they are lessons to keep you on track and give you good results.

To make this beautiful scrunchie, I used the following materials and followed the steps below.

Materials

Yarn

Rubber

Scissors

Crochet hook

Procedure

Step 1:
Attach the yarn to the band by making a simple knot.

Step 2:
Make a simple crochet around the band.

Step 3:
Slip stitch into the first single crochet to finish round one.

Step 4:
Start round two by making three chains, insert your hook into the first stitch and make two double crochet. Every stitch must contain two double crochets.

Step 5:
Slip stitch and start round 3, 4,5 etc., and repeat the same action in step 4.

Step 5:
Satisfied with the size of the scrunchie you want, wrap it up by slip stitching into the first stitch, cut your yarn, and hide the excess. Insert your design and voila! Your scrunchie is ready😃
