Happy new month dear friends on Hive, wishing everyone an amazing new month ahead.
Today, october 1st also marks my country's 65th inependence day celebration, a big feat for the country, we can only hope and pray that our country gets better in terms of leadership, peace and economic growth.
Well, the children are not left out of the day's celebration and would be having a match parade in one of the stadium, i remeber also doing this as a child, and it felt nolstagic watching my children do same today. One rule has maintained though even after several decades, children must appear prim and clean to the stadium, and it was also an opportunity for me to finally make their new uniform which i've been procrastinating to do for a while, after even buying the fabric needed.
Thankfully, the materials needed are easily available at the market as their school didn't do any strict printing on them, also, the process of making this skirt is quite easy, takes less time and saves me the high cost of getting them made in the school, afterall, doing it myself aso gives the same result.
So on today's DIY post, I will be sharing with you all how I made my daughter's uniform skirt.
Here are the materials used;
Cutting And Sewing Process
Next, I started pleating randomly, following the sequence of how the old uniforms were made, I also used pins to put them in place, since there was no power to use the iron.
After confirming all pinned area, i also measured around the waist to be sure it fits her waist measurement
I also hemmed the base of the skirt
Then, I cut out another strip which I used as a band for the skirt
Loook how adorable they look in their uniforms.
