Hive Keychain Multichain Explorer Beta Test Challenge Ongoing

Hey Hivers,

Today I decided to join the new Hive Keychain Multichain Beta testing challenge hosted by the keychain team. The challenge is focused at getting Hivers to test the beta version of the app which supports multichain features. The most important thing about this challenge is for Hivers to be able to discover bugs or issues and drop feedback in the official keychain discord server. This feedback will help the team improve on the app development during the beta phase before the official release of the app. The challenge submission deadline is July 1st and the winners will be announced on the 3rd of July. 5 Winners will be rewarded with 20k Hive Power delegation for a month. Here are a few steps to follow to to start off with the challenge. First off, you need to install the Keychain Multichain Beta extension. Even though the main extension and the beta version can coexist, it is advised that participants disable the main version to avoid both extensions loading at the same time.

How to Migrate your Accounts to the Beta Version

• Open your Keychain

• Go to the Main Menu

• Click on the Accounts button

• Tap on Export

• Select the Export as an encrypted file option

After selecting that an encrypted backup with all your accounts will be downloaded.

After doing that, you can now go ahead and install the Keychain Multichain Beta extension.

Then select import accounts and choose the encrypted file which you have just exported to access your accounts.

One thing you must note is that your password on Keychain has to correspond with the one you use in the Keychain Multichain Beta Extension.

After importing your accounts, you can now go ahead with the testing

Using the account drop-down, you can either create or import EVM accounts.

The functionalities on the Open Beta include

Creation and importation of EVM accounts

Connection of EVM dApps

Signing of transactions

Managing multiple chains from the same interface

Automatic Token Discovery: you do not need manual configuration for supported networks to detect your balances and tokens as that is done automatically

Multichain Swap: testing the swap service through Li.Fi is free during the beta testing phase as there are no fees attached to it

NFT Support: your NFTs will automatically show up and you can manage them via keychain

Transaction History: you can now access your transaction history across these networks via keychain

Ledger Support: you can connect your ledger device and sign EVM transactions safely

Creation of Hive Accounts with EVM Assets: Users who are new to hive can now create hive accounts with the use of their EVM assets. Simply access user drop-down click

Add account

Go to Hive

Click Create Account

Select EVM account you wish you use for account payment

Contacts: You can access your frequently used accounts and addresses

Shortcuts: you can easily access your most used actions with the shortcut feature

Side Panel Mode: there is a side panel mode that now shows up in the browser for people who want to access it all the time unlike the pop-up window before.

The following networks have full support:

Ethereum
Base
Optimism
Avalanche C-chain
Arbitrum
and their testnets

The supports include

Metadata support
Automatic NFT discovery
Full transaction history
Automatic token Discovery

Using additional EVM chains will need manual setup

I’m exploring the Beta Version of the app and so far everything seems to be working well. I’ll be doing more testing and will drop feedback in the Keychain Discord server if I find any bug. IMO this new development is a good way of promoting and marketing hive ecosystem to the world. Kudos to the team behind this project.
