Some of life's most memorable moments aren't always about grand celebrations or expensive adventures. Sometimes, they are simply about spending time with the people who make us feel at home. A cup of coffee, our favorite snacks, endless conversations, and a few hours of laughter can turn an ordinary evening into a beautiful memory. And that was exactly what happened when my cousins and I decided to have a little get-together at En Chantre for our goodbye night with Chesca, who was about to return to Canada.

Life gets busy, especially when we have our own responsibilities, work to finish, and personal goals to pursue. Sometimes, we get so caught up in our daily routines that we forget how important it is to pause and spend quality time with the people we love. That night was a perfect reminder that no matter how hectic life becomes, we should always make time for family.
We chose En Chantre as our little hangout spot, where we could enjoy good food, coffee, and, most importantly, each other's company. There was something comforting about being surrounded by my cousins, sharing stories, teasing one another, and laughing about the simplest things. We didn't need a special occasion to make the night meaningful, but knowing it was our goodbye night with Chesca made everything a little more special.

Of course, a get-together would not be complete without our favorite snacks! We ordered fries, quesadillas, and banana chocolate bread—treats that made our coffee date even more enjoyable. Between sips of coffee and bites of our favorite food, we talked about almost everything under the sun. From random stories and funny experiences to memories we had shared as cousins, our conversations made the evening feel warm and effortless.

There is something special about being with people who have known you for a long time. You do not have to pretend to be someone else or worry about saying the perfect thing. You can be yourself. With my cousins, every laugh felt natural, every story brought back a memory, and every little joke reminded me how lucky I am to have people I can share these moments with.

But beneath all the laughter was the realization that this was also a farewell gathering for Chesca. As she prepared to return to Canada, we wanted to make the most of the time we had together. Distance can make family relationships challenging. You may not always be able to meet whenever you want, share spontaneous coffee dates, or spend ordinary evenings together. Sometimes, all you can do is cherish the moments you have before everyone returns to their own routines.
Still, goodbyes do not always have to be sad. Sometimes, they can be filled with laughter, delicious food, warm conversations, and the promise of seeing each other again. Our little gathering showed Chesca that, wherever life takes her, she will always have family waiting for her back home.

As the evening went on, I realized it wasn't really about the coffee or the food. Although our fries, quesadillas, and banana chocolate bread made the night extra enjoyable, the best part was being together. It was about creating another memory, strengthening our bond as cousins, and celebrating a relationship that stays special even when miles separate us.
I know that once Chesca returns to Canada, life will continue as usual. We will go back to our responsibilities, schedules, and everyday routines. There will be days when we are too busy to catch up, but I hope we will always find time for little moments like this whenever we get the chance to be together again.

That night at En Chantre may have seemed simple to anyone looking from the outside, but for us, it was something worth remembering. It was a night filled with coffee, comfort food, family, laughter, and a bittersweet goodbye.
