Hello everyone! Hello to the beautiful community of @hiveph! This is me again, “LJ” and welcome to my blog!
Today is Monday, and as usual, I woke up early to prepare for work. The morning felt different because the sky was dark and heavy with rain. Normally, Mondays at school start with the flag ceremony, but because of the weather, it was cancelled. The sound of raindrops against the roof gave the day a cozy feeling. Despite the gloomy weather, everyone at school seemed cheerful.
There was a sense of excitement in the air because today was declared a half-day for all government employees in observance of the “33rd Family Week and the “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day. It’s always nice to be reminded to spend time with family. Before heading home, I made sure to finish my paperwork. I wanted to leave the office with nothing pending so I could enjoy the rest of the day without worries.
As I was tidying up my table, I noticed a wallet left behind near the back of my laptop. At first, I felt a little anxious, losing a wallet can be stressful to anyone. I quickly sent a message to our group chat, and soon enough, one of my coworkers replied. She admitted it was hers and remembered dropping by earlier. I felt relieved to return it safely. It was such a simple act, but it always feels good to help someone avoid a potential problem.
When I got home, It was just me and my son, so I decided to take my son to our go-to cafeteria to eat our lunch. We had pork tonkatsu and chicken ala queen with drinks on the side. My husband works 2 cities away from us, so most days it’s just the two of us.
Even if it’s simple, I cherish these cozy quiet moments with my son. We laughed about small things and enjoyed the early afternoon together. There’s something about half-days that feels like an unexpected gift. It gave us time to slow down and savor life.
Later when we got home, I noticed that our coin container, which we fondly called “bababanana” (Reygan named it when he was still a toddler) was already full. It’s a minion shaped plastic container originally chocolates coins were inside of it, but it has been our little savings buddy for loose change (for one peso coin only). Curious about how much we saved, I decide to count the coins.
My son watched eagerly, and together we stacked and sorted the one-peso coins. To our surprise, the total reached 400 pesos! All from just dropping coins whenever we had extra change. It felt rewarding to see how small amounts, when saved patiently, can add up to something meaningful.
Counting those coins reminded me that even ordinary days can hold small treasures like finding forgotten wallet, returning a lost item, or enjoying a half-day moment with my son. Today was filled with small blessings that made my heart feel light.
And that’s it for today blog! Thank you for reading and I hope to see you on my next one. Have a nice day ahead to all of us!
