A Blessed Beginning: The Christening of Baby Yohann Christopher

Yesterday was not just an ordinary day for our family—it was a celebration filled with love, faith, and new beginnings. The christening of my dear nephew, Baby Yohann Christopher, was a beautiful reminder of how blessed we are to gather together for life’s most meaningful milestones.

The celebration started at the church, where the sacred ceremony took place. Since my husband was chosen as one of the ninong (godfathers), this event became even more special for us. Being a ninong is not just a title—it is a responsibility, a promise to guide and support Baby Yohann as he grows in faith and in life. While my husband was fulfilling his role, I was busy capturing precious moments through my camera lens. As always, I didn’t want to miss even a single smile, gesture, or heartfelt expression. Every photo tells a story, and this was a story worth remembering forever.

As the priest began the ceremony, the church was filled with a calm and sacred atmosphere. Everyone gathered smoothly, united in prayer and gratitude. Watching Baby Yohann receive his blessing was such a heartwarming moment. This was the day he officially became part of the Christian Catholic community—a beautiful tradition that our family deeply values. In every sprinkle of holy water and every prayer spoken, you could feel the presence of faith guiding his new journey.

After the long yet meaningful ceremony, we all headed to the reception venue at Hazel's Place—one of the most popular places here in Echague. The venue was lively and welcoming, perfectly prepared to continue the celebration. You could feel the excitement in the air as family and friends arrived, dressed beautifully and ready to celebrate Baby Yohann’s special day.

While waiting for the grand family entrance, we couldn’t resist taking photos at the photobooth. Of course, we had to capture fun and candid moments for remembrance! Smiles, laughter, and silly poses filled the space as we waited eagerly for the highlight of the reception.

And then—it was finally time.

Everyone’s attention turned to the entrance area, and our excitement grew even more. Since Baby Yohann cannot sit alone yet, his kuya Yannis lovingly accompanied him. In the most adorable way possible, Kuya Yannis even “drove” the little car for their entrance! It was such a cute and heart-melting moment that made everyone smile and cheer. Seeing the two brothers together made the celebration even more touching. It was not just about tradition—it was about family, love, and togetherness.

After the entrance, the program officially started. The host brought energy and joy to the event by organizing games that kept everyone entertained. Laughter echoed around the venue as guests eagerly participated. It was amazing to see how the celebration brought out the childlike happiness in everyone. Events like this truly remind us how important it is to pause from our busy lives and simply enjoy the company of the people we love.

Once the games ended, it was time for more photo opportunities. We went table by table, taking group pictures to ensure no one was left out. Every snapshot captured genuine smiles and shared happiness. These photos will surely become treasured memories for years to come.

And of course, what is a Filipino celebration without delicious food? After the picture-taking, everyone lined up to fill their plates. Although I didn’t have the chance to take photos of the food because I was busy assisting and helping with the needs of our visitors, I can proudly say that everyone’s tummy was full—and so were their hearts. The feast truly satisfied us, not just physically but emotionally. There is something so fulfilling about sharing a meal with family and friends during such a meaningful occasion.

Even though I was running around most of the time—taking photos, helping guests, and making sure everything was in place—I felt so happy and grateful. Sometimes, the best way to enjoy an event is by being part of making it successful. Seeing everything come together smoothly was more than enough for me.

This christening was truly memorable for our family. It reminded us of our deep traditions and the blessings that come with them. In our family, faith is something we hold close to our hearts. Knowing that Baby Yohann Christopher is now a baptized Christian Catholic fills us with hope and joy for his future. We pray that he grows up guided by love, wisdom, and strong faith.

To everyone who attended and celebrated with us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your presence made the day even more special. Celebrations become more meaningful when shared with the people who matter most.

As I look back at the photos—personally taken and edited by me on Canva—I can’t help but smile. Every image reflects a day full of blessings, laughter, and love. Truly, yesterday was a beautiful chapter in Baby Yohann’s life story, and we are so blessed to be part of it.

Here’s to new beginnings, stronger faith, and many more joyful family celebrations to come. 💛
