A Get-Together on the Mountain: Reconnecting with the Kiddos

Last Sunday afternoon, I had the chance to spend time with these wonderful kiddos for the first time in a long while. It was a simple get-together, but one that meant a lot to me. I thought it would be a great idea to reconnect with them in a fun and meaningful way, so I planned something a little different—a combination of a small gathering and a kind of camping experience.

One of the places I truly love spending time with them is at the top of the mountain. The view, the fresh air, and the peaceful surroundings make it the perfect place to slow down, talk, laugh, and simply enjoy each other’s company. Being there together made the moment even more special.

This was our setting while we were trying to cook the popcorn. Just look at how amazing the view is, right? My heart has always been close to this kind of scenery and surroundings. It has always been my dream to spend my precious time on the mountain with the people who are very close to my heart. They were helping me prepare our snacks and everything we needed.

It was really funny because the moment the pan had heated up and we had already put the corn in, the rain suddenly started. We had to run down from the mountain to the basketball court, where there was a roof to shield us from the rain. 🌧️😄

And so we ended up here in the basketball court because of the rain, yet we still enjoyed every single moment. There was so much laughter, good food, good company, and the adorable reactions of these kids when the corn started popping. Their innocent responses and excitement made the moment even more special. Despite the unexpected rain, it turned into one of the most joyful and memorable parts of our little get-together. Seeing them smile and laugh so freely truly warmed my heart.

Meet these siblings—Jeric, Mikaela, and Kylie, the cute little baby. They have been very close to me ever since. Maybe I was really meant to be around kids because they always seem to enjoy being with me and get excited whenever they see me. I’m not really sure why—maybe it’s just based on my observation, or maybe it’s because I try to put myself in their shoes to get their full attention and make them laugh. Their joy and laughter always make my heart happy.

This was the basketball court area. and It's time to go home now.

In the end, this simple get-together turned into a beautiful and memorable day.
From spending time on the mountain, cooking popcorn, running from the rain, and ending up in the basketball court, every moment was filled with laughter, joy, and genuine connection. Being with these kids reminded me how precious simple moments can be, and their innocence and excitement made everything even more special. It truly warmed my heart, and I am grateful for the chance to create these meaningful memories together.
