Hello everyone. What a colorful week I had. It was one of the happiest weeks because my sister went back home after 7 years of not being together. She misses a lot of Filipino foods such as lechon, biko, tinola and other kinds of Pinoy dishes. We made sure to order a big lechon that she craved for a long time.
Before she landed, the lechon baboy was delivered at home. It was 45 kilogrammes that costs 8500 pesos. She said that she missed eating crunchy skin of the lechon, so she immediately ate when we welcomed her home. She felt like she didn't wanna go back abroad because of the tasty Pinoy foods. In her place, the tastes of Pinoy stores are mostly frozen and to be in the Philippines is a different experience because everything is fresh.
Beside is our grandfather who was still surprised as he couldn't believe that her granddaughter came that day. He stayed at home for a week but he didn't know of my sister's coming because we wanted to surprise him. When we arrived home from the airport, he became so enthusiastic and energetic. He is 75 years old, but he can walk at about 10 kilometers. The girl in blue blouse is our sister-in-law. When we met my sister at the airport, she cried a lot.
The lechon lasted for two weeks even if we gave its portions to our neighbours and relatives. They were so happy. It also made my sister happy. She is very generous because she enjoys giving especially when she sees the beautiful smiles of the people. She finally satisfied herself after craving the fresh lechon for seven years. Even if it was seven years ago when we processed her papers in Manila, seems like it was only yesterday. While we ate this delicacy, I asked her if she still remembers those days as we stayed at the Malate hotel. I'm glad she didn't forget. I was scared if she forgot because she has many experiences in life than me. I thought I was the only one who reminisce a lot because I'm a couch potato.
The day before my sister's arrival, we went to the grocery store to buy the dish ingredients. She craved buko salad, pandesal, fish paksiw, mango float, Benignet and Biko. She also liked pizzas from YellowCab and Shakeys. In the picture is my baby who was very excited to pick up goodies to her cart and kept saying that her tita Mommy needs a lot of them. She also said that my sister also needs tissue papers and wipes when she uses the CR. She knew that my sister will always use tissue and wipes which is different here jn the Philippines.
After the grocery, we went to the fourth floor of Gaisano Mall to eat on our lunch at the food gallery. There were many Pinoy Foods to choose. Prices are not that expensive but the foods are delicious. This food gallery is complete. They have many foods for snacks such as an ice-cream, waffle, pancakes, mango float, macaroni and etc.
After the food gallery, we went back to the ground floor and my daughter found the early Christmas decorations. Instead of going directly to the car, both of my niece and daughter were crying because they enjoyed watching at the displays. My little one was scared of men with beards, but she conquered that fear as she can't resist to be amused by the new view for her.
We went to the mall's bakery to buy breads that costs 100 pesos. My daughter and niece asked me if I could take a picture of them together. They look very cute, but later at home, they sometimes argue because of toys.
Anyway, I might end up in here. Thanks for reading.
I also missed eating letchon.
Thus the problem is, when there is , I would just eat a bit of crunchy skin.
Umay agag
Me too. Hehe.
The lechon was the one that caught my eye! looks so yummy and crunchy. I haven't eaten lechon in a while. Welcome back to you sister. Your family looks so happy with her arrival.💛
