What a generous Filipino can offer?
It was such a beautiful day to occupy my mind with a thought about how to select what's the best value we Filipinos can offer on the table. Will it be enough for non-Filipinos to learn about the best value we have and how it has been applied up to this point? Little do foreigners know that we Filipinos are great givers, whether it is food, service, or home.
Generosity is the ability to give something to others without expecting them to pay it back. A broader meaning of being truly generous is that you are willing to give with an open heart. It means you are giving without hidden intentions and schemes. I am so proud of my fellow Filipinos who have been sharing what they have, even if it costs them nothing but hope and happiness.
The whole truth will come out when you experience the generosity of Filipinos firsthand. The experience will teach you the value of gifting and sharing, and what effects it has on someone’s life. You have the value because it contains an invisible power that strikes with perfect accuracy. As a Filipino, I have been learning and practicing being generous. However, I am still surprised by how generous others would be and the extent of sharing the blessings they think would be suitable for others too.
Napagdesisyunan namin ng mga kaibigan ko na bumyahe sa Maragondon dahil ilang buwan na rin ang lumipas simula nang mag-outing kaming lahat. Ang mga paghahanda ay mahusay na binalak at mahusay na naisakatuparan. Excited ang lahat, bakas sa mukha namin ang saya. Nagyakapan, nag-asaran, at naghampas-hampas kami sa isa't isa bilang tanda ng pagkakaibigan. Iyan ang paraan namin ng pagpapahayag ng aming pagmamahal. Dumating kami sa bahay ng lolo't lola ng kaibigan ko bandang alas kwatro ng hapon. Medyo maalikabok ang bahay, mapapansin mo ang mga sapot sa bawat sulok ng bahay, at mga tuyong dahon sa kanilang bakuran.
Hindi kami pumasok sa bahay dahil nagpumilit ang isa kong kaibigan na maglinis ng bahay ng ilang minuto bago namin ayusin ang mga gamit namin sa loob. Dahil isa lang ang walis, palitan ang bawat isa kada limang minuto upang ang lahat ay may ambag sa paglilinis. Sa loob ng 30 minuto, ang maalikabok na bahay ay nagiging isang malinaw at nagniningning na bahay. Nang matapos naming ayusin ang mga bag at pagkain na dinala namin ay pumunta agad kami sa ilog para lumangoy.
Pinaalalahanan kami ni Justin, ang may-ari ng bahay na umahon ng maaga sa ilog dahil kailangan muna naming magluto. Karamihan sa aming mga pagkain ay frozen goods, binabad na baboy at manok, at bigas. Sumakatuwid, wala pa kaming nilutong pagkain. Bandang alas-6 ng gabi, hindi pa ganoon kadilim, nagpasya sina Joan at Law na magluto muna ng kanin. Makalipas ang ilang minuto, nagpasya kaming lahat na umahon na rin. Ngunit pagkatapos noon, nakasalubong namin si Joan sa daan at sinabing, “naubos ang gas!”
Nakakakuha kami ng ilang tuyong kahoy sa paligid ng lugar dahil ang bigas ay mailuto agad nang mabilis hangga't maaari. Nagpapanik na kaming lahat dahil sumisigaw si Joan na baka mayroong mangyaring masama sa bigas namin. Hindi natuloy ang baga dahil medyo malakas ang hangin. At pagkatapos, isang matandang babae ang lumapit sa amin, inalok niya ang kanyang kusina para magamit namin. Napayuko si Joan at nagpasalamat. Sinigawan niya si Law na dalhin ang kaldero sa bahay ni Lola Sese.
Dahil nabanggit na rin ni Lola Sese kung ano ang aming ulam, sinabi niyang doon na rin kami magluto ng pritong manok at longganisa. Napakabait ni Lola Sese dahil kung hindi sa magandang alok at loob niya na ipagamit ang kaniyang kusina at gas, hindi kami makakain. Kung makaluto man kami ay aabutin kami ng ilang oras upang makatapos. Binigyan rin namin si Lola Sese kasama ng kanyang asawa at dalawang apo ng niluto namin tanda ng pasasalamat. Pagsapit ng umaga, umarkila kami ng tricycle upang makabili ng gasul.
I want to bring this aspect of being generous to Hive because I think everyone is in need of it. Most especially, newbies deserved to be given a chance to receive a delegation. I just want to remind everybody that being generous marks the person you help. That person will not forget how much you helped him, and because of that, when the right time comes, he will be the one who helps others as well. This means there is a ripple, a wave that continuously hits someone’s heart towards others.
If generosity is practiced by everybody, then I think the community will always have positivity and a good look in the eyes of new on-boarders. When I joined Hive, I received so much generosity and guidance. I wanted to pass it on to others and share the value of being generous. Your gift and share will be written to the person’s heart that you help, and I want to leave a Filipino quote I made saying,
It's hard for me to understand Tagalog, kuya but I know a lot of generous Filipinos. My friends, my mommy's friends, my mommy too and so many. You are also generous in making comments 🤗
Wait, you cannot understand Tagalog? It means it's either you are fluent in English or fluent in your dialect there. Of course, your mom is a very generous woman. She have been helping us many times. Thank you kiddo.
A little bit of Tagalog only kuya. I learned from talking to my classmates. But in the house, we all speak English, kuya. Gramma and mom sometimes speak Ilokano.
This is one of the Filipino traits I like the most, we are generous even to strangers..
Yung tipong, dadaan lang tapus kumakain kayo, sasabihin, "tara, kain po"..
Being resilient and the camaraderie Filipino shows during unexpected devastation is what I am also proud of.

That is true. I don't know why we are so generous even if we have a few things to give. Tipong isusubo mo nalang, ibibigay mo pa sa iba. We have a lot of traits and values that we are so proud of. Thank you ate.

Likas na sa Filipino Ang pagiging mapagbigay. Minsan isusubo mo nalang ibibigay mo pa sa iba.
Tama po ate. Isang katangian na talagang likas sa ating mga Pinoy. Ang daming mga banyaga ang nasusupresa satin kapag nag aalok tayo ng tulong out of the blue.

Isang katangian na kailanman nakakapag bigay satin ng maraming koneksyon at magandang tingin sa ibang tao. Kaya kung mapagbigay ka, maraming biyaya rin ang dadaloy sa buhay mo. Ang sarap kaya sa pakiramdam ang makapagbigay.
Relate ako dito, ganyan din kami ng friendships pag nagkikita kita. Lol
But yeah being generous for us is part of being hospitable. Ganyan tayung mga Pinoy, wagas pag tumulong.

I can testify to it that filipinos are generous. I haven't seen any of my filipino friends physically but the help they've offered to me is beyond comprehension. Here and other platforms, they are always willing to help. Ate Jane, ate Ruffa, tired momma, IDK,Eby are few examples of such, there are many more ,i don't want to mention too many names.

That's true. When we were staring here, so much help was throwing at our doors. I'm sure when the right time comes, we can help others too. For delegation, of course, we will give some when my HP rises to a certain extent. Hihi
Yes. Yung kahit Wala ka na makain ipauutang ka pa kase bisita ka... I've went to an American friend before di kami pinapasok kase nakain sila... Then also nakabasa ako sa reddit about Irish culture ba yun na di ka talaga nila aalukin ng food...

Yeah, our wonderful fiesta is for everyone. Who wants to eat can come inside the house and eat whatever they want. Really? Nakakalungkot nama kung ganon ang culture nila. Baka may deep history yon.
