From Tears to Triumph: Molave's Champion Dance Journey

Hi! I just wanna share my most wonderful experience as a dancer! Guess what? I joined a dance competition for the for the 73rd Araw ng Zamboanga del Sur! and it was a blast performance! but before anything else let's start from the very beginning of my journey.

Once upon a time out teachers announced that there will be a dance competition and everyone is allowed to join but will undergo a screening first, I got excited so I influenced my friends to join and we audition to it and luckily I was being selected first! I'm very much happy about it so we listed our names. Many weeks passed we finally started our practice, and mind you our we experienced a lot.

There is a lot of reporters, and leeches. They reported lots of things to our teachers–it's fine if they don't add something up? but geez they're making up stories that leads to conflict between teachers and our coaches, our hopes really died down and lots of performers who back outed because of the challenges we have just faced. Despite all of it me and my friends at my classroom continues to join and I've meet a lot of friends during those practice time, I've created a circle of friends that everyone wants to join because of how warm our circle is.

I've meet my new circle of friends where I truly felt valued, loved, and seen. This is them, my comfort, my peace, my saranggola, and my home.

Okay let's proceed, our practice isn't perfect but those times is very wonderful, we experienced joy, conflicts, sleepless nights, exhausting days and week, but it's the most unforgettable moments ever. It is such a great experience, I'll probably miss those times where we ate together, dance together, and gossip together.

So now, the most unforgettable part is our dress rehearsal where I stumbled not just twice but I think thrice or five times, because our outfit has piticot and it's very long so there's a chance that I can step unto it but it's a wonderful experience ever! we had our dress rehearsal 2 days before the final and 1 day before the final we go to Pagadian City for our blocking and we've met lot of municipalities that will be our opponents.

So now let's go to our final presentation, I really got excited mixed with fear of failing it and not being able to win but the adrenaline rush is such a great feeling when you're in front of many people dancing your heart out aiming for championship.

While we were performing we can see from above that the judges is very impressed because one of them clapped their hands and after we presented it there are other municipalities said that our performance is a total blast! it is very overwhelming! knowing all the challenges and obstacles we have just faced during practice but still we continue to fight and win.

After the presentation, we go back to our quarters to eat and rest because later part the winners will be announced and while we we're relaxing me and my bestie saw a cute guy next to our place and she suddenly call it saying we want to take a picture of him so out of embarrassment I grab my friend and took a picture with that guy that I didn't even got the chance to know his name but it's worth it by the way hehe.

Fast forward, after eating we go back to dancing place for our unity dance but before that there is a bunch of fireworks in the sky with a heartfelt background music.

The fireworks last for an hour maybe? and it's a wonderful sight. After that we danced the unity dance which is "MEGAYON DANCE" then it's the time for the winners!!

First being announced is best in costume, and best in choreography and sadly we didn't get that award later part the third place is being announced until second place but still we aren't placed, we're about to cry because of sadness and then suddenly the first placer is announced and it is the

MUNICIPALITY OF MOLAVE!! THAT'S OUR MUNICIPALITY!!

we literally jumped, shout, and cry, our hearts out expecting that we aren't placed but we are first placer Glory to God! we are nothing without you oh Lord. Despite the judgement, despite from the fact that we're being dragged down, degraded, dowgrade, but we remain humble because that's what God asked us to do and it's all WORTH IT!🥹🩷
