It's Saturday, which means it's #beersaturday, not that you need an excuse to drink a beer of course! Today though i was being a wee hobgoblin lol!
it is not any old Saturday it is the first Saturday in February!

I picked up this pack before Christmas from Home Bargains and tonight was the night I pulled it from the top shelf in the fridge and demolished them rather too quickly!

I have drunk all three types before and I admit the Ruby is by far my favourite... and no not just it is the strongest!
The Session is the weakest and not my favourite. It is not really a beer in my eyes, anything less than 4% is just like a soda!

What shall we start with ...
I bit like school dinners when you got six of the best if you did not finish your plate, I always ate first what I didn't like. or liked least, and so ...

Can you guess the order I will drink?

No shocks that first up is the weak Session IPA

Followed by my favourite which is the Ruby!

And last but not least was the Gold Beer.
I did tan the Session and Ruby while I heated up dinner, this was all leftovers, I just threw it into a pan, mixed it and heated it, added some chips and a pitta ... and hey presto!

Wychwood Brewery’s Hobgoblin line is one of the most recognisable names in British ale, famously marketed as "Beer with Character." The brewery produces several seasonal variants but these are the 3 core beers that define the brand.
The brewery is located in Witney in Oxfordshire and the original label was inspired by a local legend of a hobgoblin living in the nearby Wychwood Forest.
Let's get the gist from gemini on the three beers I drank...
This is the "approachable" member of the family. It’s a golden ale designed to be refreshing but still packed with more punch than a standard lager.
Style: Golden Ale
ABV: 4.2% (Bottle/Can) / 4.5% (Cask)
Taste Profile: It uses a blend of four hop varieties (including Citra and Summit) and a touch of wheat. Expect a bright, citrusy aroma with a slightly zesty finish.
The flagship "Legendary" beer that started it all. If someone says they are having a "Hobgoblin," this is usually what they mean.
Style: Ruby Beer / Extra Special Bitter (ESB)
ABV: 5.2% (Bottle/Can) / 4.5% (Cask)
Taste Profile: It is famous for its rich, chocolatey malt base balanced by a distinct bitterness. You’ll pick up notes of toasted bread, dark fruits, and a hint of spice.
The heavy hitter of the core range, this IPA has won several awards, including "World's Best IPA" at the World Beer Awards.
Style: India Pale Ale
ABV: 5.0% (Bottle/Can) / 4.5% (Cask)
Taste Profile: This isn’t a hazy "New England" style; it’s a more traditional British IPA with a copper hue. It features tropical fruit notes (pineapple and orange) but keeps a solid malty backbone and a very crisp, bitter finish.
The Ruby is what I like, the Session is okay as is the Gold, I think Gemini has got into a fankle as the strengths seem to be up the fluffing swanney!
Never the less, a decent three pints, and fluffing good scran, I do love that cook or is it chef T!

Posting about a beer on a Saturday on the Beer Community ....
Cheers to beers and Happy New Year everyone

Sounds like a really interesting three beers. I wish we had more imported around here.
Yeah they were fun, and the ruby gets my vote every time. Maybe online has more?
A well-balanced beer trio! I think you just summed up my ideal Saturday: beer and just reheating food. You beat me to it. I was going to invite you! Hahaha. A trio of hugs.
Yeah a perfect Saturday followed by a perfect result today! So matching that trio of hugs with a trio of trio hugs!
Cheers! Goblins are classic! 🍻

Did you get drunk after drinking all of it?😛. I'll again pass today but I will go with the food😌😌
Hehe no no it was just right, Oh I know you will, one day I will have one with you...
Ruby pours nice head to the brew, nice tasting session while preparing a meal. Winter is never too cold to enjoy a beer while cooking up a storm.

Ah yes a beer in winter is always a fine thing!
