Celebrating with a beer and a burger after giving the bairns a spanking

Hello Hivians and all you beer lovers.

It's Saturday nope, it's actually fluffing Monday evening when I am getting around to finishing this post and hitting publish! It was Sunday afternoon when I started! Which means it's #beersaturday, well for me at least it does!

And what a weekend it has been! The old four seasons in one day malarky!

Sunday's Beer Saturday

It was actually a celebration, I am sure some of you might be able to guess from the title....

If not here goes ...

In Scotland we called children as Bairns...

So you might think my title was celebrating with a beer after spanking the children!!!

But ...

The Bairns in question are Falkirk, who are nicknamed the Bairns...

The nickname comes from the old Burgh of Falkirk motto:

"Better meddle wi' the de'il than the Bairns o' Falkirk."

In plain English: "It's better to mess with the Devil than to mess with the people of Falkirk." This paints the locals as a tough, fiercely loyal group who look out for one another—an image summed up by their other motto, "Touch ane, touch a'" (Touch one, touch all).

We were losing 2-0 but then pulled a goal back just before half time to make it 2-1 ...

Time for a beer for me!!!

And what a turnaround, the Gers walloped in 4 goals in 16 minutes or so

I will take the credit of course!

If managers can have inspired substitutions, why can't I have inspired timings to drink!

Two different drinks, the beer was for me, but can you guess the soft drink next to it?

Ah a lunch to watch the footy with!

The Beer ...

It was a can of Fierce IPA from the Scottish brewery Fierce Beer.
This is a modern double IPA with a 7.4% ABV.
It features bold citrus hop flavors with pine and caramel aromas.

My Verdict

🍺 ☑️ Beer was great
🍔 ☑️ Burger was great
⚽️ ☑️Fitbaw was fluffing great!
