Another Saturday and another beer. Although I must admit I almost never had a beer today! I am in fact drinking my second beer as I write this post!
This afternoon we had an orange walk right outside our front door...
Being of the orange persuasion I was loving it, and even Mrs T having been to Belfast and knowing some of the history was out in the sun watching and cheering.
I think it was the marching bands that she enjoyed, being that she was in one herself..
However tonight it is about beer!
Like I said I nearly didn't have one... However I realised that tomorrow is Sunday and that is a smoothie day.
So rather than go to the supermarket and get spinach tomorrow I would get it tonight.
So down I went and whilst there I saw these two bottles...
Yeah I saw the AMERICAN hops bit and thought hmm I am quite liking these of late...
Then I saw the bottle cap....
Being that I saw an Orange march and I too am all in favour of defending the Crown and Constitution and maintaining the Union of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, serendipity was in place and two bottles came home with me.
The first has finished and we are now on the second...
Do you see the white foam it came out perfect...
The beer body of the glass it looks the bubbles were in a F1 race and blurred past real fast!
According to the label ...
So I was expecting something decent.
It was bursting american hops although is bursting the right adjective?
It is very drinkable and I love the lemon and grapefruit flavours, it gave it a wee bit of nonsweetness if that makes sense! It is not as bitter as some of the IPAs which is fine by me.
It is both sippable and quaffable!
Now when I saw it on the shelf the label said The Green Gecko... me was confused so I asked gemini...
Hatherwood IPA, sold by Lidl, is a 5% ABV American IPA. It features big, tropical American hops, delivering distinctive lemon and grapefruit notes, underpinned by a subtle malt taste for balance. Previously known as "The Green Gecko.
I can't seem to find much about this, it seems like a supermarket own brand beer so to speak. Gets my vote.
Posting about a beer on a Saturday on the Beer Community ....
Cheers to local beers and Happy Summer everyone

I drink it once. I honestly expected more. on a scale of 1-5 I would give it a solid 3. But it's still a beer. Friend asked me once did I ever drink a bad beer. i said "Yes, of course". So friend asked me how was it, "Well" I said "not bad." π
It was good value for money and yeah a solid 3 I agree with you. Haha lol that was not bad π€£
Hehehe. I'm better now. I missed foods todayπππ
Ah yes no food, I will send you some youknowhere π€£
Wow, Hatherwood must have been really a great beer for Saturday. Hmmm. We don't have many choices when it comes to beer out here, but I guess we might grab some at the convenience store and see later. I need a break from the busy weekdays last week, and need a refresh this weekend.
It was a refreshing beer Cherry and great value for money. I hope you had a refreshing weekend and a smile on your face.
Hahahaha, I like how the bottle top, with the British flag poses with the glass and bottle. She looks like a model more!!! Gotta give the smoothies a rest and what better way to do it than with a beer. I am a true believer that beer is one of the great medicines invented by man. Even for the pains of the soul, they are useful. A Sunday hug, Edπ«
Hehe thank you Nancy, you are the only person who saw the bottle top and how I made it pose for a picture with the glass and bottle lol. Oh yes beer is a great medicine! Thank you Nancy and today is a beer hug for you π»
I had a PBR today. That's some real American beer!

Guessing not that PBR lol so ..
from Wikipedia
Pabst Blue Ribbon, commonly abbreviated PBR, is an American lager beer sold by Pabst Brewing Company, established in Milwaukee
