Hello beer lovers! Last weekend I participated in something incredible: I was invited to a beer tasting room. Access to this space is limited to those who work in tasting or have direct contact with one of the breweries in the region.
The atmosphere is incredible, a private area where I met some famous YouTubers from the beer world. I was very happy with the invitation, as I'm just starting out in the art of tasting, I only post a few posts about it, and I'm already having an opportunity few others will have.
HOW DID THE TASTING WORK?
Each guest received a wooden shelf with six beers, one in each glass. The type of beer in the tasting was not revealed; each taster was asked to taste the varieties and fill out a short report on the characteristics they were able to analyze. Everyone chose the two beers that stood out most from the varieties presented.
Afterwards, we were invited to socialize in a party room, featuring music, plenty of drinks, several waiters, and a short show that concluded with the presentation of the winning variety: PATAGONIA IPA.
NOTE: I don't know which beer variety I chose first, but PATAGONIA IPA was my second choice. How do I know? Its color and flavor.
PRIZE: All guests received three cases of this beer: PATAGONIA IPA. In addition to this wonderful prize, I received a stipend to cover my stay in the city. I don't know what the others won; it was a personal gift.
PATAGONIA IPA
A craft beer with 5.8% ABV and 40 IBU, it's a striking beer, its intense flavor captivating your palate. Its visual presentation highlights an amber color, with good head formation and relatively large, long-lasting bubbles. It's beautiful to observe in the glass.
It has a medium aroma, highlighting the citrus notes. It's the kind of beer you appreciate just for its aroma. The sip is sensational, the initial flavor is subtle; I have the impression of something caramel-like, but I could be wrong. The flavor sensation subtly changes until it becomes dry and has a distinct bitterness, maintaining its flavor and refreshing characteristics. I've tried other PATAGÔNIA beers before, but this one stands out, a balance of its unique characteristics.
A perfect beer for celebrations, it pairs well with spicy foods and almost any situation you can imagine. All these qualities earned it a spot in my top two; I wonder which brand I selected for the top 1.
Although I've recommended other options in past, this one has a special highlight: the IBU 40, something hard to find in Brazil.
My friends @seckorama and @godfish, I've always commented on your posts about the high IBUs in beers from outside Brazil. Now, I can say that I've tried a beer with a high IBU. Beer with a high IBU in Brazil is like gold.

Olá, amantes de cerveja! No último fim de semana, participei de algo incrível: fui convidado para uma sala de degustação de cervejas. O acesso a esse espaço é limitado a quem trabalha com degustação ou tem contato direto com alguma das cervejarias da região.
O ambiente é incrível, um espaço reservado onde conheci alguns YouTubers famosos do mundo cervejeiro. Fiquei muito feliz com o convite, pois estou começando na arte da degustação, publico poucos posts sobre o assunto e já estou tendo uma oportunidade que poucos terão.
COMO FUNCIONOU A DEGUSTAÇÃO?
Cada convidado recebeu uma prateleira de madeira com seis cervejas, uma em cada copo. O tipo de cerveja da degustação não foi revelado; cada degustador foi convidado a provar as variedades e preencher um breve relatório sobre as características que conseguiu analisar. Todos escolheram as duas cervejas que mais se destacaram entre as variedades apresentadas.
Em seguida, fomos convidados para um encontro em um salão de festas, com música, muitos drinks, vários garçons e um breve show que culminou na apresentação da variedade vencedora: PATAGONIA IPA.
NOTA: Não sei qual variedade de cerveja escolhi primeiro, mas a PATAGONIA IPA foi minha segunda escolha. Como sei? A cor e o sabor.
PRÊMIO: Todos os convidados receberam três caixas desta cerveja: PATAGONIA IPA. Além deste prêmio maravilhoso, recebi uma bolsa para cobrir minha estadia na cidade. Não sei o que os outros ganharam; foi um presente pessoal.
PATAGONIA IPA
Uma cerveja artesanal com 5,8% ABV e 40 IBU, é uma cerveja marcante, com sabor intenso que cativa o paladar. Sua apresentação visual destaca uma cor âmbar, com boa formação de espuma e bolhas relativamente grandes e duradouras. É lindo de se ver na taça.
Possui aroma médio, com destaque para as notas cítricas. É o tipo de cerveja que você aprecia apenas pelo aroma. O gole é sensacional, o sabor inicial é sutil; tenho a impressão de algo caramelizado, mas posso estar enganado. A sensação de sabor muda sutilmente até ficar seca e com um amargor distinto, mantendo seu sabor e características refrescantes. Já experimentei outras cervejas PATAGÔNIA antes, mas esta se destaca, pelo equilíbrio de suas características únicas.
Uma cerveja perfeita para comemorações, combina bem com comidas apimentadas e praticamente qualquer situação que você possa imaginar. Todas essas qualidades lhe garantiram um lugar no meu top 2; fico pensando qual marca selecionei para o top 1.
Embora eu já tenha recomendado outras opções no passado, esta tem um destaque especial: a IBU 40, algo difícil de encontrar no Brasil.
Meus amigos @seckorama e @godfish, sempre comentei nos seus posts sobre os altos IBUs em cervejas de fora do Brasil. Agora, posso dizer que experimentei uma cerveja com IBU alto. Cerveja com IBU alto no Brasil vale ouro.
