Strong Black Beer [ENG-PT/BR]

Following the kind invitation from @ravenmus1c, and because I haven't posted in this community for some time, I want to share with you a craft black beer.

Letra G [Eng: Letter G] is a craft beer, Imperial Stout, very intense with a roasted malt flavor with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. The foam is creamy and has the perfect formula: 100% malt - 20% hops - 80% yeast. It is a beer to accompany meat and Chévre cheese. This is the information found on specialty websites.

So I will share my experience with this powerful black beer. I don't just drink the beer, I also “drink” the design, the presentation, and its purpose/context. Of the countless beers available, these are my parameters for choice.

I'll start by saying that I'm no expert. In fact, I don't enjoy alcoholic beverages. However, since I turned 50, I've been following the advice of a urologist friend and drinking a liter of beer a week. This is to keep my bladder functioning regularly and avoid drastic malfunctions.

I prefer craft beers, which are generally healthier in terms of ingredients and production. I have a strong preference for dark beers. Not because of the taste, but because of their benefits: they are a source of energy and rich in minerals (potassium, magnesium, and iron) and B vitamins.

About the Letra G

The first sensation on the palate is the certainty that you have never drunk anything like it before. Very smooth due to its creamy foam, appealing due to its dark chocolate aroma, but powerful in terms of alcohol content: 10.5%. Be warned, this is a beer for well-fed men with thick beards. Otherwise, you'll be in trouble. It's easy to drink, but more than two bottles can spell disaster. If you have the opportunity to try it, don't take on any major responsibilities afterwards (such as driving a car or other vehicle). It's an experience to be had, but in moderation.

This beer is brewed by Cervejaria Letras, based in the Minho region of Portugal. More precisely in Vila Verde, Braga. Awarded a Gold Medal at the 2020 Concours International de Lyon. A young and dynamic team passionate about craft beer, strong and full-bodied like the beer I am sharing with you.

Letra G é uma cerveja artesanal, Imperial Stout, muito intensa com sabor a maltes torrados com notas de café e chocolate preto. A espuma é cremosa e tem a fórmula perfeita: 100% malte I 20% lúpulo I 80% levedura. É uma cerveja para acompanhar carnes e queijo Chévre. Esta é a informação que consta nos sites da especialidade.

Partilho então a minha experiência com esta poderosa cerveja preta. Eu não bebo só a cerveja, “bebo” também o design, a apresentação e o seu propósito/contexto. Das inúmeras cervejas existentes são esses os meus parâmetros de escolha.

Começo por dizer que não sou um expert. Na verdade, não aprecio bebidas alcoólicas. No entanto, desde os meus 50 anos que sigo um conselho de um médico urologista amigo, bebo um litro de cerveja por semana. Isto para que a bexiga tenha um funcionamento regular e evite avarias drásticas.

Prefiro cervejas artesanais, em princípio mais saudáveis nos ingredientes e seu fabrico. Tenho uma forte inclinação para cervejas pretas. Não pelo sabor como pelos seus benefícios, é uma fonte de energia e rica em minerais (potássio, magnésio e ferro) e vitaminas do complexo B.

A primeira sensação no paladar é a certeza de nunca ter bebido nada igual. Muito suave pela espuma cremosa, apetecível pelo aroma a chocolate preto, mas potente na graduação alcoólica: 10,5 %. ﾠ

Atenção, é cerveja para homens de barba rija e bem alimentados. Caso contrário vai dar-se mal. Ela deixa-se beber, passar das duas garrafas pode dar asneira. Se tiver oportunidade de experimentar, não assuma nada de muita responsabilidade a seguir (como conduzir automóvel oi outro veículo). É uma experiência a ter, mas com moderação.
