Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

I hope this week has treated you well, and that you are enjoying your holiday weekend, so far!

As always, I am happy to announce that we have made it safely to the weekend, and today is Caturday, my favorite day of the week.

According to the Hoomans, this is also a "holiday weekend" which means a lot of people are getting to stay home from work on Monday. I don't know if we're planning anything special around here but holidays are always good because sometimes the Hoomans can be talked into extra Kitty treats!

Do you mind? I'm trying to take a nap!

I know that the Dad-Hooman was busy in the garden earlier today, and he picked a bunch of blackberries, and now the Mom-Hooman is making jam.

Any excuse to spend extra time in the kitchen is welcome, of course, and hopefully I can talk someone into an extra treat!

Shangri!

Sometime during the coming week we're expecting a visit from the Daughter-Hooman and her baby boy... which is not necessarily my favorite thing but it does make the Mom-Hooman very excited.

I am going to reserve my own excitement for a few years down the road when the young one is old enough to understand how to be nice to a cat.

Smudge wants to know if you brought any treats?

Meanwhile, it looks a bit like our own Hive token has finally taken at least a temporary break from its eternal trip towards the basement.

I'm not holding my breath in terms of this being a long term trend, but at least it is a welcome change of direction!

Anyway, as I said, it is a holiday weekend and according to the Dad-Hooman this holiday is called "Labor Day."

Supposedly, that means that Hoomans take a day away from their eternal work, but the Dad-Hooman says that for him it's "just another day on which to labor." I think that was supposed to be a joke... but I'm not entirely sure.

On the whole, it has been a pretty quiet week around here.

We can tell that fall is near — even though it has been sunny and warm — because the days are definitely getting shorter and the sun is lower in the sky. I'm trying to enjoy as many sunny spots as I can, before winter arrives!

Camera? Who cares!
