Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Well, we've arrived at the weekend once again, and the Hoomans say this is a "special" one because it is the Autumnal Equinox!
Three layers of cats
All I really know is that it is Caturday — my favorite day of the week — and we have a house full of cats!
Well, not to the same degree as @manorvillemike, but we think that four cats is a pretty good population.
Nala and Shangri, sharing a sunny spot!
Even though the kittens have been with us for less than a month, we can already tell that they have grown... and, of course, their personalities are developing.
Judging by the size of his feet and the length of his tail — as well as his frame next to fully grown Shadow (who's no small cat) — we think Shangri is going to grow into a very large cat... even though they are littermates, he clearly has some Maine Coon back in his lineage somewhere.
Shangri, in a pensive moment
He has already decided that the Dad-Hooman is "his" Hooman, and is starting to follow him around... the early anxiety and skittishness all but forgotten.
Interestingly enough, he was the more fearful of the two at the beginning, but now he seems like the first to climb on stuff and get himself into trouble!
Nala, enjoying the afternoon sun!
Nala, on the other hand, has pretty much been "the Mom-Hooman's cat" since the first moment.
The two are very closely pair bonded, but are now exploring the house more independently of each other... although they like to sleep in very close proximity to each other.
This is MY sleeping spot, now!
Curator Cat has been very good in his role as "Uncle Shadow" and there have been no skirmishes of note. However, when he has had enough, he has had enough and retreats to a high place that is more or less "kitten proof."
At least for the moment!
I think there's a spider on the ceiling!
Smudge has been surprisingly curious about the kittens, and doesn't seem bothered by their presence although she's not really interacting with them very much.
And that's OK, really, since she is quite old and not as mobile as she once was.
Smudge is not entirely sure what's going on...
All in all, everybody seems quite happy and at peace with the new living situation... and we're all very grateful for that!
Thanks for coming to visit our kitty blog, and we hope to see you again soon! Hope your Caturday was a good one, and wishing you a great Sunday, as well!
If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?
These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!
HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

How nice! All the cats get on with each other very well. I love to play hide and seek with the young kittens. All the cats are very happy and feeling at home there! Love to snuggle them!🙀😂
They seem to have adapted very well to our house, and everyone gets along. Sometimes they are still a little nervous when there are sudden movements, and that will probably take a few months to wear off. After all, they were street kittens when they were dropped off at the animal shelter.
=^..^=
Glad to know they are doing good progress. Love to see more photos of these lively cats.
Lovely shots of all the cats and I'm sure there's Maine coon in there somewhere...
Time will tell! Regardless, we're pretty sure Shangri is going to become quite a large cat.
=^..^=
They all have capture My atention but the most one have done is Smudge. It have a curious combination of colours on its hair. It is beatiful!
Yes, Smudge has unusual markings, and particularly how the colors on her face are divided down the middle in almost a straight line.
=^..^=
Looks like fun. !BBH
