Why I Am Not In Bed

Hellow to everyone and welcome to the midnight contest #18 where we share our midnight experience. Tonight I want to share with you all why I am not in bed.

These days, I have been finding it difficult to sleep at night, just like tonight that I'm wide awake. My body is very tired but my mind is very much engaged. This is so because my husband travelled.

Whenever my husband travels, our nights will become special in different ways. During the day, we both go about our daily activities, my husband go about handling the matters that made him travel, I on the other side, takes care of the children, after they have gone to school, I take care of some house chores after which I go stay at my shop selling. But at night, when everywhere is quiet, my husband calls me.

He will want to know how we fared. Just like tonight that we just finished talking to each other before writing this post. He ask about the house, ask about the children, and also ask about me, if I missed him and all of that🥰🥰 he listened carefully while I tell him how we fared and how we are coping in his absence, things that stressed me and all that. Then he too told me how his day went, how far he has gone for the affairs that made him travel, then we talked about how we missed each other 🫣🫣🫣.

Sometimes we talked until midnight, sometimes 12am, sometimes 1am, before we realise it, sleep has escaped again. But to be sincere, since I am already struggling to sleep these days, those late night calls have become my comfort, since my husband traveled.

This is 12am, I had just finished speaking with my husband and we shared some loving, encouraging moments together. Our discussion has helped me realise that distance is never a barrier in a relationship. No matter the distance, we will still talk to each other before the end of each day. So after making this post, I will finally go back to my bed, pray, then relax and see if I will catch some sleep.
