Midnight letter prompt #17// App I am addicted to

Good day hivers, in my entry for this week's prompt, I must say it's a good one.
I have developed a habit of scrolling until I fall asleep, guess the app. It's TikTok. What started as casual entertainment has slowly grown into something I now recognize as an addiction. Night after night, I tell myself I will only scroll for a few minutes, yet hours pass before I realize it.
There was a particular night when there was no power supply, and my phone battery ran completely down. Instead of accepting it as a sign to rest, I left my street late at night in search of electricity. I walked to another street where power was available and paid just to charge my phone to about 40%. That was enough—not for important calls or emergencies—but simply so I could scroll through TikTok until sleep finally came.
In terms of data usage, I usually subscribe to 10 gigabytes every week. Shockingly, TikTok alone consumes about 5–6 gigabytes before the week ends. Most nights, I fall asleep with the app still open, and by morning my phone battery is drained and my data completely exhausted. It has become a repeated cycle I am very familiar with.
In an attempt to regain control, I began setting data limits, carefully measuring the amount I felt was reasonable for nighttime use. Yet even with these restrictions, there are nights when I exhaust my data and still feel the urge to continue scrolling. On such occasions, I borrow data just to satisfy that craving. When the limit finally cuts me off, I sometimes turn to watching movies instead.
However, watching movies at night does not truly interest me. I prefer movies during the day, when my mind is active and alert. Nighttime is different. At night, TikTok takes over my attention completely. The short videos, endless content, and constant stimulation keep pulling me in.
At this point, it is clear that TikTok owns my nights. Once the sun goes down, just leave me there scrolling.

It's a gradual process. One step at a time and you're out. Am working it out already

Never installed TikTok, but I have the same problem with YouTube.

They are all relatable.
Same problem from different applications.
One thing is for sure: change comes with choices and the desire to change. I'm glad you're able to relate to that.
