Howdy to you all, my fellow Midnight Owls, it’s been a while

Here is the new prompt for the Midnight Owls:

If you got called by your name at Midnight, what would you do?

Hi there, and welcome to the latest prompt for the Midnight community. In this prompt, let us have a little fun with our reactions and stories that we may have to tell. So I came up with the idea that, hypothetically speaking, you hear a voice that calls your name at midnight, what would you do? Bear in mind that this is a strange voice, and it is late at night. Also, funny stories are highly welcomed. If something of such happened to you in the past, kindly share with the midnight community.

As usual, we give some highlights of some posts from the last prompt, and here they are:

When I came up with this prompt, I knew, at the back of my mind, that there can only be two kinds of people: those who will answer the call with confidence and think that whoever is calling me at this time of the day. And then there will be those who instantly rebuke the call by refusing to answer. Midnight is a very strange time to call somebody's name, especially when I am not expecting it. It becomes even scarier when you start alone.

I am not going to say I have the boldness to go and find who is calling me at midnight. Immediately, I will run for the reels. Well, this is not some horror movie where the characters try to find out what is going on or where that voice is coming from. That is not me. I am the person in the movie who takes the other direction, and by now you should know what that direction is, that is run. While on the run, I will start to brainstorm on some possible ideas of who that could be and what could have led to that. Is it a friend pulling a prank on me, or is it something else? I remember I have fallen victim to stunts like that from my friends.

Here is the good thing for me about running away first: I do not need to live to see what happens. Let me hear about it when it is over, not while I am present, and that is the best for me anytime. It is funny, and I know, but we are all built differently. What is your response to a strange voice calling your name at midnight?
