Night Over Day: What Makes the Difference

(edited)

People have preferences for a lot of things; foods, places, clothes and a lot more. Not much is said about the time of day. Or maybe it's just me not seeing much of such conversations. Arguably, the preference could be daytime. It's the time everyone is expected to be up and running, doing one thing or another. It's literally the working hours as defined by industry standard or demand. Beyond that, other essentials are done during the day.

Nighttime on the other hand is assumed for rest and recovery for the next day's work. But there's a group of people who think otherwise about nighttime; the midnight owls. For some reason, we find it more convenient to be awake at night, doing some work. It all boils down to the several reasons people may have individually. And for me, I'll be sharing what makes the night different from the day, because certainly, I see and feel that difference.

As I've always said, the night offers a calm and quiet environment to do work. It's that time within the twenty-four-hour interval when I get to enjoy that serene atmosphere. It makes thinking and my creative works more fruitful and productive. I'm able to think, imagine and work well, more than I would be during the day. It's clear how busy and loud the day is. I don't get the calm and quiet I would want.

There are several distractions during the day. Not when you live with people even. My work, reasoning, and thoughts are affected by one external interference or the other. Friends could just come around and that's it, the work or whatever is either affected, suspended or slowed down. However, at night, it's different. There's little or no such. Thus, it causes more productivity for me. It's the quiet and calm atmosphere, with no disturbance, especially on a night when fresh air is blowing in. Chuckles.

I just feel that, there's a luxury with nighttime that makes the difference. It might not be something substantial that one could hold, but it's the feeling it offers. That definitely makes for why the night seems or feels different from the day, for me.

Making this post around 1:50 am.

I love both day and night; during the day I'm active and at night I enjoy relaxing, it's great
