Why I try to "build something"

I generally and quite often find in my "digital life" and in my "real life" (which by the way is such a weird phrase because digital is definitely real) parallel lessons or thoughts or philosophies. I believe this is consistent with a universe that works in a fractal way, and such ancient wisdom like "As Above so Below".

In terms of Sustainable Development of our rural region, I have frequently been a somewhat reluctant participant in "tourism", and I always think that tourism might be interesting, and even good, but it can never be a main thing. A region cannot have a "culture of tourism", or maybe its more true that few regions can manage to do that. Because if you lose your main culture - what are the tourists coming to see?

So I work in Ecological Restoration, I build living systems that I believe can be more profitable that "traditional" monoculture agriculture. There are reasons to visit a unique living laborynth profitable ecosystem restoration project - and meaning to those reasons that there just isn't for visiting "a hotel". A Hotel has a reason to visit, if (and only if) the region has a reason to be visited.

In a world of "social media"

I think we have a similar situation with "content creation". The truth is that none of our content is worth any amount of money, not even a nickel. And I think a lot of people especially on HIVE get some idea that the "quality" of your content makes it "worth" some amount of money or not. It would be healthier, in my estimation, if we all assumed our content was "worthless", and to get a nickel for it, a miracle.

And maybe Twitter, Youtube and other social media platforms do have ways to "earn" money as well - and its not about the "quality" of the content on those sites, either.

"Quality" is what we would call a proxy variable. It proxies something else, and you might proxy a variable in "science" or data analysis with something you can measure more easily. But quality is not measurable, so its a terrible proxy variable for judging content. We should more easily assume all content, in a vacuum, is worth zero. That includes yours, no matter how many hours you spend on it. Externally worthless.

Outside of "big data" considerations, the real value of "content creation" is personal, internal and interpersonal. The act of documenting a process, setting a goal and "telling a story" about achieving it - and possibly connecting with close friends and interested parties in the REAL TIME iterative process that is LIFE. This is the real value, and I have some evidence.

No one searches my blog more than me. I look up my old posts to read or to find/connect/share a point I already wrote about in the past. Its a reference - mainly for MYSELF.

Who I build what for

So I know that I do a lot of things, and I have even recognized some friends worried that I might get burned out. Of course, life goes on, and "this is what I am doing"; I consider that the roadmap for 2025 is going rather well. Over this month of June will start a bit of a new phase for TheCrazyGM.com, Team.Mithril, Moon and Ecobank.

Everything I do fits together in my head, but I cannot manage to explain in every post how it all fits together. But the breadcrumbs are here, on-chain. A toolbox, a development group, a game and a bridge to "the real world" - In some real way "I am building" these things for myself. I am crazy and I could peacefully and much less stressfully grow my own bananas and not do any of this stuff - not experiment on the cutting edge of technological development.

But I enjoy it! I struggle to "not build" things. And I feel passionate about a lot of the "mistakes" I see around the world, both in digital and physical development. I am motivated to "be a better builder" and maybe even leave some useful legos, tools and tutorials for other people who want to build things.

And if you have read this far, you should definitely be voting for my @synergy.witness HIVE witness. I have many posts that need writing and a post to votebeg about this is one of them. Vote now and help me put off writing the vote-begging post!

Of course you're involved in ecological restoration too...lol! That was something that I never got into as a main thing, but it was always close to my heart. I had so many notes and ideas on rebuilding tropical forest ecosystems. I very much appreciate you and the perspectives that you share, my friend. Oh, and I already voted for your witness a while ago. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

It is a very interesting approach that you raise.
I completely agree that tourism should not be the fundamental basis of the development of a region, since this could compromise its cultural identity and its essence.
I believe that projects such as yours are those that can really generate a positive and lasting impact, both for local communities and the environment.
I admire your vision very much.

Ha ha, I went to vote for your witness and discovered I already am! And I was waiting for the votebegging post.

I was speaking with the Director of interesting project in South East England. They have a community garden and a market garden, but the wider philosophy and values of the project are about access to the land. I'm going to visit them on 1 July, looking forward to it.

I like what you say about content creation is personal. Based on what I seen so far only content that have a personal touch will leave a lasting impact.

Keep doing what you do. Have a nice day

It must be valuable first. Then, someone might visit it.

This is so true. People have been creating content for years thinking it deserved payment, but honestly most of it's just shouting into the void. Getting any reward at all should be treated as winning the lottery that's how I see it

Of Course “everything I do is connected in my mind” even if others can’t always see the links.
