We continue to demystify the DHF! As I discussed the next phase of our roadmap, someone asked me - "Wait - you can get partial funding?"
Now "can" and can are two different things, but it is totally possible to get 1 day of funding, in our case 9000 HBD, and that be the final result. In this post we will break down the details.
Do you like what we are doing? Do you think its valuable? Well then you probably already vote for our proposal!
But - there is one case, left unpacked, and that is the year long drip. Several stakeholders told us, they "would" vote for a proposal like this, but that the fast proposal:
I keep putting that post off - about all this game theory - or maybe other things are getting in the way. But more and more I think that this is something to unpack at the end. To give it the full "game theory" treatment, we should probably finish the game first.
So here we all, our 13 days of politics is over, our proposal is "live" and "unfunded", with ~7.6M HP of votes and growing, and the return proposal sitting at ... 38.3M HP.
The return proposal is doing its job. Its a dynamic, moveable obstacle, another tool to allow stakeholders to show how they feel. I think the recent juicing of the return proposal has nothing to do with the Open Mithril Development Framework, but let's just say that .... it seems like its probably going to stay pretty high up there, and even higher if necessary, until somewhere around December 31, 2025.
I touched on all this in a recent podcast, we go deep in the second half of the episode. If you are an audiophile, you may enjoy listening to this (yet unpublished) podcast:
YES!
In fact, I think our "modular development framework" is the perfect candidate for partial funding. You are not sure what we will do? Well, since asking for funding from the DHF, we have done a lot of things, not least of which is a lot of work on Beem Hive-Nectar (now on Pip!) - we even got a shout out in the core dev meeting, I clipped two minutes just for you guys:
YES!
I actually think there is a good chance. But more of you would have to vote on it first, before I bother the big guy about it. He might say yes or no, but I won't even bother him about it if his massive vote wouldn't matter. That would be a waste of his time.
What we are doing is valuable. I believe that more money has been paid in the past for less work than we have already done. 1 day of funding, or 9000 HBD, would fund us for 2 months or more, pay our rent and buy us groceries. We are doing it anyway.
We want one day. Let us show you what we can do with it.
Redhat for HIVE, HIVE-as-a service.
We are building all the legos. Great tools. Open source, and you can see it on my blog. We are helping everyone, finding the lowest hanging fruits first. We are lowering the bar to build on HIVE, we are marketing, we are doing podcasts.
We are friends - with everyone, and we are having fun.
Is it worth money?

I'm honestly surprised Whales are not using this partial funding strategy. One of the most unique features of DHF is that we don't have to fund a project in an all or nothing manner. Even the daily ask is divided into 24 parts if I remember correctly. They could vote to fund you buy few hundred dollars. You should bring out this idea more during your Deep Web3 Secrets episodes. I really wish you get funded. You have already provided a great deal of value.
Great point! Yes I notice that even the dailies seem to be dripping, I will for sure break down many of the things I have been "demytifying" on more podcasts!
We need to change the DHF conversations from "Yes/No" to "How much?" and I don't know of any other DAO fund that can do this. We have to embrace and play to our strengths. We use partial votes on posts all the time. We can do the same with DHF Proposals.

I know that you'll find a way. You're doing absolutely incredible work on a developmental framework which will immensely benefit the whole Ecosystem. I wish I had a bigger vote. ๐ ๐ ๐ โจ ๐ค

The question comes down to, "What do the chief stakeholders of Hive Power value?"
Your output appears to align with their interests.
I think so too!
They have my support, It's not much, but every drop counts.
