Day 5 of our Romblon adventure was a perfect blend of history, nature, and relaxation. We began our morning with excitement as we set off to visit Calabogo Lighthouse, one of the lesser-known but scenic spots in Romblon, Romblon. Located on a hilltop, the lighthouse offered breathtaking views of the coastline. The short hike up was filled with greenery, and the sound of birds added to the peaceful atmosphere. When we reached the top, the wind greeted us with open arms. The lighthouse stood silently, a historical witness to many years of guiding fishermen and travelers at sea. Looking out from the top, we were surrounded by endless blue skies and sparkling waters — a truly refreshing moment.
From there, we moved on to Fuerza San Andres, a centuries-old Spanish fort just nearby. Built during the Spanish colonial period, this stone fort was originally constructed to protect the island from pirates. Walking along its weathered walls, we felt like we were stepping back in time. The view from the fort was equally stunning, overlooking the town and the sea, and gave us a deeper appreciation for Romblon’s rich heritage.
After our historical morning, we headed back to Talipasak Beach Resort to rest and recharge. The peaceful ambiance of the resort was the perfect place to unwind. We rested in our cottage for a while, then decided to grill some hotdogs by the beach — a simple yet satisfying snack. The smell of grilled food mixed with the salty sea air made us even more excited for the relaxing afternoon ahead.
As the sun began to lower, we went swimming and played in the clear waters. We had fun trying to catch small fish with our hands — not to keep them, but just for the experience. We released them back into the ocean with a smile. Later, we spotted a few jellyfish floating gently near the shore. Out of curiosity, we carefully caught them for a moment before returning them safely to the sea. It was a reminder of how alive and beautiful the marine world is.
The day ended with a quiet dinner by the beach, watching the sun disappear behind the horizon, painting the sky with orange and pink. After a full day of adventure, discovery, and peace, we lay down under the stars and let the waves sing us to rest. Romblon never fails to amaze us — and day 5 was another day to remember.
