Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog! Splinterlands rolled out the first updates in 2026. We'll be covering those in our post for today. We'll also take a look into the price of SPS after the announcement of the new mini set, Escalation.

Upcoming SPS Price and Mini Set

First, let's check the announcement last week regarding the release of new mini set in February. There will be 500k standard packs to be released priced at 350 SPS or 5,000 DEC each pack. The announcement brought positive movement on SPS prices as it has been rallying. We may see SPS hitting $0.01 soon. We have seen similar movements before when a new pack gets to be released in SPS.

New Ruleset: Bruteforce

We will see a new ruleset in our battles starting today. It's called Brute Force, a community driven ruleset. In this modifier, units with the highest power attacks first. This means units like Grove Doomblade even with its slow speed stat of one will get to attack first in battle because of her high attack power.

Premium Avatar Backgrounds and Frames

We can now buy premium avatar background and frames from the shop. These are priced in DEC and Glint tokens. This is great news since it brings new DEC sink in the game as well as more cosmetic choices for our favorite avatars.

New Battle Intro and Outro

We can now see an intro and outro showing our avatars in battles. Before the start of battle, we will see the following intro.

After the battle is done, we will see a cool animation of our avatars showing who won as the loser's avatar will drop from view.

On the other hand, if you don't like to see these in your battles, you can turn them off in the settings.

Just go to settings>graphics and turn on Skip Battle Intro and Disabled Avatar Result Animations.

New Mission in Campaign Mode

There's a new mission in the campaign for creating avatars.

The new mission is called "Know Thyself". It guides users to create and Avatar and the reward is a new background. I immediately completed it and used the new background in my avatar.
