Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog! An exciting news has just been posted by the team. There will be not one, not two but three new cards in the vouchers shop! Players and collectors will definitely scoop up these cards since they are strong and will easily find spots in our battles. Let's do a deep dive into the cards.

Grayhammer Painsmith (Common)

We start with the common card, Grayhammer Painsmith. He's an eight mana, dual splinter Death and Earth card of the dwarf bloodline that means he can also be summoned by the Fire archon. His role in battle is range tank with his stats and abilities but he can also play in the backline. At maxed level he does two range damage and has three speed. Consequently, that's the also the initial stats at level one and does not increase as he levels up. He has thirteen health that makes him a viable tank. As for abilities he has Close Range starting at level one, enabling him to hit with range in first position. He has Painforge that makes him a good combo to Blazebeard Merc or Kha'zi Conjurer. He has a debuff ability, Rust and healing ability further making him a sustainable tank.

Grayhammer Painsmith is cheap at only twenty five vouchers a copy. For players with limited budget, maybe a level two that will cost one hundred twenty five vouchers will suffice with two abilities.

Conjurer's Hubris (Rare)

Conjurer's Hubris is a rare card of Water and Fire splinters. He's huge with eleven mana and he's an elemental. At maxed level he deals dual damage of three magic and three melee. He also has seven health and four speed. He gets Apex Strike ability at level two and Stun at leve four. Another ability, Ambush will be added at level six and at maxed level, he gets Expose.

I like this card but its utility maybe limited because of his limited defense, he's better off playing in the rear. On the other hand, he has no ability to enable him to attack with melee from afar so he's best in high mana battles with Super Sneak or Equal Opportunity rulesets where melee units can attack from any position.

He costs one hundred vouchers a copy. For low budget players, one BCX is maybe enough but if you want to get the Apex Strike ability, then go for level two for five hundred vouchers.

Lorn (Legendary)

From its Treefolk bloodline, you'd think Lorn is an Earth card. He's actually a Dragon and Light splinter with only six mana. At maxed level he deals three melee damage and is fast with five speed. He has three armor and nine health on defense. As for abilities, he has Charge that enables him to hit with melee from afar. He also has Painforge that will make him a good combo to cards like Songale. He also has Relentless Strike and Lifeleech abilities. He's a good backline melee damage dealer that can increase his power when comboed with cards with Reckless or Incendiary abilities. His Lifeleech ability can help recover the health he loses from allies with debilitations.

Lorn is a legendary card and costs a hefty one thousand and fifty vouchers. For players with limited budget, one copy is probably good enough since he has the Charge ability at level one and deals two melee damage. If you want the Painforge ability then spend two thousand more vouchers for three BCX and get a level two.

Closing Thoughts

All three cards bring something to the table that will give us additional choices to tailor our strategies. For myself, I'm leaning towards one copy of Conjurer's Hubris or level two Grayhammer Painsmith. Not only do they fit my budget, they are also members of splinters I usually play. The legendary card, Lorn is no doubt good but simply out of reach of my budget.
