Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog. In today's post, I'll update the status of my Frontier cards. I have been continuously updating them either by obtaining cards from reward chests or buying from the market. While it's good to upgrade cards, some of them are better than others when upgraded. I'll share which cards get much better when upgraded.

All my archons are maxed out and I even have extra copies lying around. It's great to max out archons to be able to gain access to higher stats and abilities of levelled up cards. Even if you level up your units, you need to level up your archon as well to be able to summon the units at their highest levels. My archons are all at level four, the maximum level of Frontier cards. However, they can be competitive at level three. At this level, they can summon level two legendary cards which gain more power at level two. On the other hand, some legendary cards are better than others when levelled up. I'll discuss it in the next section.

Almost all of my legendary cards are upgraded to two except for Fire and Life. In my opinion, these cards have low utility so I didn't bother to buy copies to level them up. The other cards get much better at level two.

Giam Root, Mystic Scaleweaver, Great Bear Druid and A'lan Musketeer all gain additional attack stat. This is important to squeeze every bit of advantage in the Frontier. I dare say these cards can even be used in the Modern mode especially Scaleweaver and Musketeer who boasts of high offensive stats.

Little Sister also gains an extra magic attack but also the Flying ability. This makes here extremely useful in Earthquake rulesets even better than the Celestial Guardian in my opinion.

I find the upgrades to Agniavan Salamander and Celestial Guardian the least impressive. Their attack stats don't improve and their utility is not as important as the other legendary cards.

Most of my epic cards are maxed out except for Saltwater Mage and Glimmermancer. I often use both cards but I not in a hurry to upgrade them to max levels. All epics don't add attack stats but only health, speed and armor.

All of my rare cards are at their maximum levels. The best ones to max out are Time Bandit and Moros Malik who both gain an attack stat at level four. Vicious Quilliun and Paprikash both gain attack stats at level three.

All my common cards are maxed out. The best common cards to max out are Frankarsgard who gains the Enrage ability, Port Guardian gains Corrosive Ward, Dire Bear will have Cripple ability, Twice Yester Knight gains Shield and Black Widow gains Poison ability. Some cards gain attack stats at max level lie the Chaos Furybringer, Port Guardian, Spitting Camel and Spinetail Fiend.
Other common cards gain attack stats at only level four like the Sturdy Axe Warden, Dread Tafarian and Wilhemdale Deputy.
Having played with maxed level cards, I can say that not all splinters need to be maxed out to be competitive in the Frontier. For example, the Earth team will be competitive with level three archon since most cards including the legendaries get additional attack stats at this level except for the Time Bandit. On the other hand, it's better to max out the Water archon since cards like Port Guardian and Spitting Camel get better at level five.
