Splinterlands End of Season

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog! Another Splinterlands season has just ended. I wasn't able to play much Modern mode this season so there was less earnings compared to the last. However, I still join brawls so there were decent SPS earnings there but my Glints this season was significantly lower. I used SplinterStats to generate the following data.

Performance

I reached rank 159 in Silver III. The competition is still difficult as I face a lot of Nidhoggr and Tofu archons. It seems my team is underpowered. I ended the season with a rating of 1,200 with a highest of 1,260. I have a high win vs loss record with eighty nine wins against eighty one losses but with more battles, the ratio would probably decrease.

Rewards Earned

I earned a total of 17k Glints and 32 SPS during the season. This is purely from ranked battles. This is significantly lower than last season's due to lower battles I played in Modern mode. I played more battles in Frontier mode this season because I compete there better with my maxed level deck. Although there were no SPS rewards, I find it more fun to play in the Frontier mode.

SPS Earned

Brawls is still my main source of SPS earnings. I earned a total of 227 SPS during the season, just a bit lower compared to last season's 258. Staking rewards as 37, ranked rewards was 32 and brawl rewards was 158. I'm staking all SPS earnings to earn more from there. I'm also buying SPS on hive-engine but I'm reserving those for the upcoming mini set to be released in February. I currently have 8.2k SPS and 16 DEC on Hive engine in preparation for the release of Escalation set.

Featured Battle

I've seen a lot of players using the Water magic team with the Frontier archon. The Frontier cards are a cheap way to play in the Modern Silver mode because they cost significantly lower than Conclave Arcana and Rebellion sets so they're easy to max out. Having a level four archon in Silver League gives players a significant advantage over others. The Water team is easily the most powerful since the archon grants additional magic attack to units. I also use the same team with a strong tank followed by an all magic team. To counter this, I use my Earth team with Kaylia Silverleaf who decreases the enemy's magic attack. My team is composed of the following units.

Warborn Chieftain is a good offensive tank but also has defense against magic and physical attacks with his Phase and Shield abilities. In second position I had a three mana filler card, the Ironwing Juggernaut. It can attack with melee from any position due to its Charge ability. The rest of my team were elf units to take advantage of the archon's Execute ability granted to elves. I had Silverleaf Warlock whose Swiftness ability counter the enemy's Mystic Scaleweaver who slows down my team. I also had Frontier card Sorrow Harvester who decrease the enemy's health by one. Finally I had Bren Palesworn and Thanalorian Blade to attack the enemy's back line.

My strategy proved effective against the enemy's Water magic team.
