Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog. Our guild just concluded another brawl. We slightly improved from last week's terrible results but still leaves a lot to be desired. In today's post, I will share our performance in the brawl, my own contribution and featured battles.

We barely improved our standings from last week's eight place. Seventh is better but we still need to do more if we want to place higher in the standings. We won seventy seven battles and lost eighty five. We earned eighty one crowns that we can use to upgrade our guild buildings.

My own performance is still not as great, winning five battles out of nine. Each of us who participated in the brawl earned 4.2k merits and 42 SPS. It's still a lot less than we normally receive from brawls.

The battle had the Up Close and Personal rulesets among others. It's my favorite win in the brawl as I used a gladiator card to counter the enemy's Quora. I chose the Death archon Razi Clanktrap and the team was composed of the following units.
Perhaps the best card to counter Quora Towershead in this ruleset. Xulax Nightwind has the two abilities to nullify Quora's attacks. Thorns enables it to return damage from melee attacks which is also good in this ruleset that allows only melee attackers. Void Armor allows it to block magic attacks with armor thereby decreasing the effectiveness of Quora's magic attack. On the offensive side, it boasts of four melee damage himself.
An ideal card in this twenty five mana battle. The one mana Halfling Refugee is great in second position because the ruleset included Manuevers, giving the Reach ability to all units. It can deal three melee damage from second position while also having sufficient health when it takes the tank position.
The Ironwing Juggernaut is another low mana card that's great in this ruleset. It can attack with melee from afar because of its Charge ability while only needing three mana to use in battles.
The Broken Earth Thug is a three mana card that deals two melee damage. It has the Opportunity ability to attack enemies from the backline position. It also has Cripple ability which is effective against units with healing.
Bren Palesworn is a legendary card that has dual attack of melee and range. It has the Sneak ability that enables it to attack with melee from the backline.
The enemy used the legendary Risqruel Drath as archon that grants the Flying ability to units. It's an effective defense against physical attacks as it increases the chance to dodge. However, the enemy only had three units against my five. He had the legendary Skrag the Gnaw in first position followed by Quora Towershead. This is an ideal position for Quora in this ruleset because she gains the Reach ability, enabling her to hit with melee from second position. She can use her dual attacks while hiding behind their tank. In last position he also had the Halfling Refugee.
My team quickly defeated the Halfing Refugee followed by Skrag the Gnaw while not losing any units. The enemy was left with his Quora to fend against my five units. Although Quora had healing, she cannot keep up with the number of attackers and was soon defeated.
