Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog! We'll be looking at another Escalation card in today's post. This time it's the legendary Okora the Devourer. What makes her special is she is like one of my favorite gladiator cards: Fina Voxom that has both Opportunity and Bloodlust abilities, making her a strong damage dealer once her bloodlust gets triggered.

I like how her lore explains why she is a Dragon splinter with Ulund bloodline. She gained her magic from eating the heart of a chaos dragon. That transformed her to a Dragon splinter and gave her dual attack of range and magic. She also got her title "the Devourer".
While the Ascendency deliberated their next move, Okora descended into the fortress-city's deepest vaults. There, mounted on an obsidian pedestal, sat the preserved heart of a chaos dragon, one of the Host's greatest. The beast had burned entire armies before the rebels brought it down. The Ascendency kept its heart as a trophy.
Okora stared at it. Then she lifted the organ in one hand, opened her massive jaws, and devoured it.
Dragon magic flooded her body. Her ulund physiology rejected it, fought it, tried to expel it. Okora refused to let go.
When the transformation was complete, she walked to the Ascendency's war room. The guards moved to block her. Dragon magic flared and they were hurled aside. She pushed open the doors.
"I ate the chaos dragon's heart. The dragon's power is mine now. I shall lead the fight against the Conclave Arcana."

Okora is a nine mana Dragon splinter. She deals dual damage of two range and two magic. She also has eight health and is fast with five speed. Like Fina Voxom, she has Opportunity ability that enables her to hunt down enemy low health units. This will trigger her bloodlust and make her stronger after each enemy she defeats. She has other abilities but the combination of Opportunity and Bloodlust are her most powerful ones.

Being a long range attacker, Okora will be great in Going the Distance rulesets where her dual attacks will give her team a definite advantage. She's a good damage dealer in the backline protected by strong tanks in front. I would use a dual tank combo in front with her in the back.
She can also be in an all Ulund team with the Bella Ratajowlski archon where she will get a Shield ability. She can combo with another Ulund legendary card, Moribund Arrowbait whose Bloodline Tribute ability will further increase Okora's stats.

In the featured battle, player THEGCC used the combo I mentioned above. He had Bella archon and Moribund Arrowbait in the first position to activate her Bloodline Tribute ability and empower all ulunds in the team including Okora. THEGCC's team was not particularly strong and even included a level two Lifeward Channeler.
His enemy also had an ulund team and had a mostly maxed units except for the zero mana card that was only level one. They both had the Moribund Arrowbait in first position but his enemy had more ulunds in his team.
Okora gained stats from Bloodline Tribute and her own bloodlust. Her attacks drastically increased to six range and seven magic while her speed was insane at fifteen. At this round, it's clear THEGCC will already win the battle.
