Infernal Firestorm: The Magic Tank

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog. In today's post, we'll be looking into the epic, magic tank: Infernal Firestorm. We'll check out its stats and abilities as well as possible combos and rulesets.

Lore

Infernal Firestorms are pure destructive force that few can control. They are much like the dragon Rage that has no allegiance, only pure destruction.

Infernal firestorms are born from the molten rocks and ceaseless flames of the Plane of Fire. Few mages have the power to conjure them. Fewer still can control them. If unleashed and left unchecked, these tempestuous elementals can reduce entire cities to smoldering ruins.

Stats and Abilities

The Infernal Firestorm is a magic unit that boasts of high defensive stats. It deals three magic damage and has four speed. It has seven armor and eleven health making it a good tank or secondary tank. It has the Flank ability from level one, making it possible to place a melee tank in second position. At max level it gains the Demoralize ability, decreasing melee attack of enemy units.

Role and Possible Combos

Infernal Firestorm is a magic unit that can play in any position. However, due to its defense and huge health pool, it's an ideal tank especially in Wands Out ruleset where only magic units are allowed. It can also play tank in regular battles and have another melee tank in second position owing to its Flank ability.

Mantaroth, with a powerful melee unit with Repair ability is a good combo for Infernal Firestorm. It will deal damage while also providing support by repairing armor.

Another good combo is the Molten Elemental who deals dual damage and has the Silence ability to dampen the enemy's magic damage.

There are a lot more combos like the Chaos Golem or Mana Dwarf that will provide it with the Shield ability, adding another layer of defense to the Infernal Firestorm.

Featured Battles

Battle 1

In this battle, player BIOMICHEL had the Infernal Firestorm in the tank position. His team was led by Lorkus archon who provides additional attacks to melee and magic damage dealers which is perfect for his team composition. In second position was a gladiator card Gorth who deals a huge six melee damage. It's allowed to use gladiator cards in this battle because of the ruleset. The rest of the team was composed of magic damage dealers.

His opponent was also strong and used a max level archon. His units are composed of high level ones that included four legendary cards. BIOMICHEL's team had the better team composition and synergy including the buffs received from the archon. Even though his team only had one legendary card, they worked better together and overpowered their enemy. Gorth was especially strong in this battle with its Bloodlust and Enrage abilities increasing its power enabling it to one shot enemy units.

Battle 2

In the next battle, the Infernal Firestorm served as tank in an all magic unit team. It's again led by Lorkus who grants additional attack to magic units. His team was a combination of Fire and Death, Lorkus being a dual splinter archon.

His enemy had a team that I would prefer. It's led by Kaylia Silverleaf who debuffs enemy magic attacks. She also grants the Execute ability to elves. Included in his team was Lord Thanalor, a legendary magic unit with elven bloodline. He also had a Taunt unit I frequently use, Silverleaf Mage, to draw enemy attacks away from my tank. The rest of the units were long range strong damage dealers.

The battle included Thick Skinned ruleset which debuffs physical attacks. BIOMICHEL's all magic team had the edge in this battle, suffering no decrease to his attacks. His enemy had melee and range units that had their attacks decreased by the ruleset.
