Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog. In today's post, we'll be looking at the Helheim Demon. It's a rare, Death splinter card that has a great mix of stats and abilities at level one. It's a versatile unit that can be used in many rulesets. Let's take a look at its stats and abilities, its role in battles and see a sample battle.

An excerpt of their lore. Helheim Demons goal is just to end life and spread chaos.
Hailing from an infernal realm that found its end in the belly of the dark god Uul, Helheim demons joined the legions of Chaos under the heel of the archfiend Barashkukor. Now, these manifestations of death and decay serve in the archfiend's legion of demons, where they enjoy nothing better than spreading the cold embrace of mortality.

At level one, the Helheim Demon already brings a lot to the table. It deals two magic damage and has two speed. It has good defense of two armor and eight health. It boasts of two useful abilities Flying and Taunt. With its speed and good defense, it's a useful Taunt unit that can defend well and dodge physical attacks as well. One copy only cost thirteen cents so it's easy to acquire if one is interested in adding this unit to his deck. The Helheim Demon hits its sweet spot at level five where it gains an additional attack.

The Helheim Demon is a magic damage dealer that can play in any position. It can be a tank or an off tank because of its good defense and high health. Ideally, it should be placed in the back and use its Taunt ability to draw enemy attacks. It's a great unit to use in Earthquake rulesets because of its Flying ability and a good combo to Night Reaper.

In this battle, Helheim Demon is used by player LIGHTYEARS. His team was led by the legendary archon Lorkus who adds magic and melee attack stats to units. In the tank position was a unit I wrote about last week, Infernal Firestorm who has the Flank ability allowing a melee tank to play in second position. The super tank Chaos Golem is in second. He will have the Reach ability allowing him to attack from there. It's a tank that combines high attack and sturdy defense. In third is Barashkukor, a monster that's tied to Helheim Demon's lore. It deals a high five magic damage, has great defense and a slew of abilities including Weaken that decreases the enemy's health. In fourth is Helheim Demon and in fifth is a legendary card, Rush Townsend. It deals five range damage and very fast with six speed. It also has good defense of four armor and six health. It boasts of abilities like Ambush and Piercing to add to its offensive capabilities. In last position is Daigendark Hunter who deals four range damage and decreases the enemy's magic attack with its Silence ability.
The enemy tried to counter Lorkus's magic buff with Nomos who debuffs enemy magic attack. His team composition is not as good a LIGHTYEARS's though. He had Anyu Huntswoman in tank who has the Void Armor ability to try to defend against magic attacks but its only six armor and not enough against high damage dealers. In second is Mana Warden, a poor choice for an off tank given its low health. The rest of his team were long range damage dealers but deal less damage compared to the first team. LIGHTYEARS team had the better synergy combining attack buffs while debuffing the enemy team. It also had a Taunt unit to divide attacks, allowing his tanks to survive longer.
