Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to my blog! Amidst all the excitement on Avatars and Exemplars, it seems that the other updates went unnoticed. Cloveria Morth'lana is already available in the voucher shop for 250 vouchers per BCX. Let's do a deep dive into this card looking at her lore, stats and abilities as well as her possible combos and role in battle.

Lore

An excerpt of her lore about how she discovered the Recharge ability.

Cloveria was seventeen when she first felt time stutter. A hunting accident, a fall from a great height, and suddenly the ground rushed toward her slowly, lazily, giving her long seconds to twist and catch a branch. She told no one. But she began to experiment, pushing at the boundaries of the present, finding the gaps.

The Continuum found her four years later. Their seers had glimpsed her in a dozen possible futures, victorious in battles yet to come. They offered what she had always sought: knowledge and tutelage she could find nowhere else.

With them, she learned to slip between temporal folds, to exist in the pause between breaths and glimpse the threads of what comes next. Eventually, she learned to store the kinetic energy of many draws and release it in one, her shaft striking twice across separate moments.

When Cloveria Morth'lana takes aim, she knows how it will end. Her enemies are already dead. They just don't realize it yet.

Stats and Abilities

Cloveria is a seven mana, epic, Life splinter card. She's the epic card that can deal the highest damage in a single round. Let's see her damage potential. At max level she deals four range damage which will be multiplied by three because of her Recharge ability. The Recharge ability makes her miss a turn but will multiply her damage by three once her turn comes again. However she has the Ambush ability that gives her a turn prior to the start of the battle. This means that she will be ready to attack at round one. Her damage potential is further amplified by her Double Strike ability. This combination of abilities makes her attack very strong in a single round. It would have been great if she has Piercing ability to go through armor or Trample to carry her damage to the next enemy unit.

Role in Battle and Possible Combos

Cloveria's role in battle will be the backline damage dealer. She has the Camouflage ability that makes her immune to Sneak attackers unless the enemy has Reveal ability or something similar. It would be great to combo her with units with Rust ability to decrease the enemy's armor or combo her with faster units that will remove the enemy's shield first so that her attack will target the enemy's health. She will be great with the Earth archon Kaylia Silverleaf since she's of elven bloodline. Kaylia's Bloodline Dominion ability, Execute will further increase her damage potention. Imagine having Recharge, Ambush, Double Strike and Execute to a single unit. That can eliminate one or two enemy units in a single round.

For the Budget Conscious

Cloveria is not cheap. At 250 vouchers a copy, it will cost her around 64 Hive. In my opinion, a level two with Recharge and Ambush abilities will be enough. It will cost 1,000 vouchers or 257 Hive. If you have more budget, you can opt for level three with 10 BCX to get her Camouflage ability. It will then cost 2,500 vouchers or 643 Hive. If you think her damage potential is worth it, she's available in the voucher shop waiting for your purchase.
