My Splinterlands Brawl Report (2 wins in Gold Card Frey 11). Also, 'THGaming Brawlers' now in Tier 3 Brawls = Insane $SPS Rewards!

Another week another Brawl

Finally I am managing to keep up with my @splinterlands Brawl Reports! Feel free to check out My last Brawl Report Here from 11 days ago. I'm sure most of you already know that @splinterlands has made Guild Brawls truly profitable and Guild Brawlers now win staked $SPS Tokens for Brawl participation. The amount of $SPS you earn is dependent on your Guild Tier (Arena level), Guild Participation (how many Freys are filled) and how well you actually finish in the Brawl each week.

'THGaming Brawlers' in Tier 3

➡️ 53.3 $SPS for 5th place finish

THGaming Brawlers have moved up to Tier 3 Brawls after getting our Guild Arena up to level 5. A HUGE Thank you to @neophyte142068 for contributing 100 000 $DEC towards the ARENA last week and helping us to level up so quickly!

I am AMAZED at just how much $SPS THGaming Brawlers earned in the last Brawl (53.316 staked SPS) especially considering we only finished in 5th place. While it does cost a lot of $DEC to level up your Arena, it's definitely worth it considering the $SPS earnings your Guild members will receive.

[Above] Level 5 Arena = Tier 3 Brawls, and heavily increased $SPS Rewards for Brawl events each week.

THGaming Guild Performances

Again THGaming2 emerged as our highest placed Guild in this week's brawl, ahead of THGaming1 and THGaming Brawlers. THGaming 2 Guild has also overtaken THGaming 1 in the league standings, showing that the players within 'THG2' are dedicated gamers!

THGAMING Guild Brawl Finishes and Rewards

🏆 THGaming Brawlers (5th place) TIER 3 BRAWLS - The guild has won spoils of 48 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 2,400 Merits and 53.316 staked SPS.

🏆 THGaming 1 (5th place) TIER 1 BRAWLS - The guild has won spoils of 6 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 323 Merits and 9.638 staked SPS.

🏆 THGaming 2 (3rd place) TIER 1 BRAWLS - The guild has won spoils of 9 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 415 Merits and 9.188 staked SPS.

THGaming Brawlers have certainly shown that moving up into Tier 3 is well worth it! I have moved my main deck into our Top Guild and look forward to seeing how well I can do against some Top Class competition.

My Two Gold Brawl Wins

Most readers don't have time to go through overly detailed posts, so I will try to summarize my Winning battles into bite sized chunks. I was able to win both of my Brawl battles on my main deck @jim-crypto in THGaming 1 Guild, so let's take a look at them below.

Brawl Deets : I played BRAWL FREY 11 (Bronze Level GOLD CARDS, all Series allowed). I currently own 82 Gold Cards including 4 Summoners (Water, Earth, Fire, Death), however I rent a number of Cards for Gold Brawls, including LIFE and DRAGON Summoners. The Gold card rentals also add to my Card Power and allow me to be more competitive when playing Wild or Modern league matches.

Jim-Crypto - Brawl Battle 1 (Win)

40 Mana - RULESET : Close Range, Briar Patch (Thorns)

When I saw Baakjira (the whale) in my opponent's front row I got a bit nervous as this is quite a tanky front row card, which takes reduced magic damage and slows down the opposition. LIFE is not usually my favourite Splinter for playing Gold Brawls, but because of the Ruleset it made sense to play a strong Ranged attack. The 'Close Range' Ruleset meant that Ranged attacks are able to be played from the front row, and the 'Briar Patch' Ruleset gives all cards the THORNS ability meaning that Melee attackers would damage themselves.

The Goldfoil Summoner (rented) that I used was General Sloan giving +1 Ranged attack to the 4 Ranged Cards I placed in my lineup. I was able to place Ajax Lightfoot (one of my few Goldfoil Gladius Cards) in the 4th Position knowing that his Speed, Damage and Bloodlust ability were sure to do serious damage to my opponent...and I wasn't wrong!

LESSON LEARNT : Even though LIFE is not my strongest Goldfoil Splinter, the Rulesets played so well into LIFE's strengths that I simply had to use these cards and ended up losing only 2 of my monsters before mowing down my opponent.

Jim-Crypto - Brawl Battle 2 (Win)

14 Mana - RULESET : Unprotected, Stampede

This was a low mana battle of only 14, meaning card choice was very important. I own quite a few low mana Goldfoil FIRE splinter cards that can attack from a distance, as well as a Gold Orella Abadon - the 2 mana Fire Splinter Gladius card with 2 Melee Damage as well as the Abilities : Sneak and Bloodlust.

My Goldfoil Summoner Tarsa gave all of my Melee attack cards + 1 damage, and all cards + 1 life. My opponent chose Kelya Frendul which made his cards faster, but unfortunately his Armour buff was negated by the battle ruleset 'Unprotected'.

My opponent put all their eggs in one basket, choosing the Deeplurker (at the back) and hoping this fish's Opportunity skill would clean me up. In all fairness, he did manage to destroy 3 of my low life cards in only 3 rounds. However my front row tank Cerberus (rented) healed his way through all the attacks up front, and Cerberus and Orella Abadon were able to take down the Cruel Sethropod and Deeplurker pretty quickly.

LESSON LEARNT : For low mana battles, it's usually best to choose many low mana cards with a Summoner like Tarsa who gave give them all a much needed Life and Attack boost.
