Depression and anxiety — how to overcome these biblically (Part 2 of 3) | The Old Path

Hello everyone, I am delighted to write and share with you all this write-up which is drafted from a video I was sent to watch and learn from. I hope that you will learn something from it. The topic for today is "Depression and anxiety — how to overcome these biblically (Part 2 of 3) | The Old Path".

From the beginning of the video, Brother Eli stated "we must not be preoccupied by death. Let us be preoccupied by what is coming forth after death." If we are reaching a point in life that we are going to die very soon, let us accept the will of God. We should know that we are not intended by God to leave forever in earth. God has promised us an eternal life in paradise where we would live in peace and tranquility with God.

To be saved and to live with God in Paradise must be our point of view in life. This is because our story would not end here on earth. We should not only think about these worldly matters if not we shall remain in anxiety and depressed.

From the book of Philippians 4:6-7 "Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ."

This indicates that if we put our trust in God only, we would be free from anxiety and depression of this world. Example if a Doctor tells you that you would die in the next few days, you would just be filled with full of anxieties and worries.

According to the Bible, to die in Christ is to live forever. There is no doubt that we all shall die from this world. This can be found in the Book of Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead knwo not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten."

We will only die when God wills us to die. That is our trust. Not any living shall die without the will of God knowing. From the book of Mark 8:36 "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

This indicates that the whole world is not important than your soul. It cannot save your soul from dying or living. In the end we should know that we must not be preoccupied by death. Let us be preoccupied by what is coming after death.

Thank you all for your time and attention. See you all another time in my subsequent post.
