When I first got to Hive, like any other newbie I was a bit ignorant. I saw a button on ecency called 'witness' and always wondered what that button did. I clicked and saw names listed but had no idea who they were. I was lost for months until I saw a post that encouraged people to vote for witnesses. And I also came across @goldenproject who took the initiative to organize interviews for witnesses and post on Hive so that everyone understands the great work they do to keep Hive standing.

Witnesses aren't just random names, they're the backbone of Hive. They keep the network running, validate transactions, produce blocks, and ensure our community remains decentralized and secure.

In this short animation, I tried to represent them using the idea of a "Hive City."
I spent days working on it and I hope you enjoy watching it.
