RE: Mis amigos de papel, una vida entre libros // My paper friends, a life among books

Reading is one of my lifelong passions. I once spoke about what I loved most in life, and my brother told me my answer wasn’t right because I hadn’t put reading first.
Like you, I consider it an infinite source of knowledge and an essential remedy for stress.
I even had a bookshelf where I organised my books by genre. There weren’t as many as you’ve read, but there were quite a few.
During a torrential downpour at the little house where my mother and I lived, we lost almost everything we owned, including several books. That was one of the worst blows of my life because it was like losing loved ones. Since then, I’ve kept only the odd book, and those that managed to survive I donated to the library at the school where I worked.
I’ve always loved crime fiction, world literature, sports books, and books on different fields of knowledge such as the natural and social sciences, and I also enjoy anything that makes me happy to read.
Thank you for sharing.
I would have liked to take part. But I don’t have many books with me. Have a lovely day. Best wishes and regards.

I can imagine how much it must have hurt to lose your books... although the important thing is that there were no personal losses.

You can tell who reads a lot by how he expresses himself in writing, as is your case. I had no doubt that we shared that drive to acquire knowledge.

You don't need to have an extensive collection to share it in the initiative. On previous occasions I have seen publications of collections with three elements. What it matters are the stories you can tell us about them, including those of the volumes you lost in that flood. 😘
